  1. Cheers ,what about the noise levels there must be max alowed it just seems daft to subject so many people to so much noise ,dust etc every 4 minutes.i would like to get hold of the rules that govern this.:-Dcw

Rest assured that at MM the helicoptor is well away from the MV area, right where the old booking in was last year, so for you CW it will be quiet and you can look upon the Germans with QUIET :-D

  2. Hi it's been a long time since an update was posted on here due to shows and working on MM, so here goes.

Military Mayhem has taken off with a big leap, we now have upwards of 200 MV's booked in and 13 re-enactment groups, a Spitfire fly past from the BBMF, a main battle tank (Chieftan) and numerous tracked armour etc.

We have FREE "tank" rides for the children (432) in the arena, Kas the singer in the afternoons and evenings and a great band filling in between, so hope to see you all in the marquee for a sherbert.

Trade stands for everyone including Johnsons of Leeds again, toy tanks to play with i.e. sit in and drive them around, and lots lots more.

I hope those that have booked in will enjoy themselves as we try to please and it wll be a friendly show (no quads) and only one helicopter (far away) for CW.

I look forward to seeing you all there on the 22nd August if not before.

    Many thanks to you all.

  3. Heard from Ovendons today Lee - they will be shipping the OT down either Weds or Turs - or so goes the current plan!!! :):)

See if we can get across the bridge this year without "collecting" any more orange plastic netting!!!

That bridge (top of Moncktons)? is smaller still or the one by the shop has been re-built, so dont break it mate. :argh:

  4. We do exactly this at Military Mayhem with a 432, the little ones get to ride in a "tank" (to them) for free, 2 laps around the arena for free. They are inside with a lady who cares for children as a living and the parents watch from the side, to see their faces when they come out after the trip gives you a good feeling inside

Well worth it and safe. :-D

  5. I'll pop over later for the full story... hope there was no damage to man or machine:shake:

Do you have mobile broadband too Mark?? or do you keep popping home for hot showers & a full English:confused: not a proper camper:coffee:

No damage to man or machine thank the stars :-D and I am still at work this week :argh:, so popping down as and when until next Sunday when I will be on site full time, next visit tomorow (Monday) afternoon. :-D

  6. Been down there since 0700 'ish this morning, woke Lee up and then went straight in to quiet camping, no chalets at all but there were 3 reindeer who were very inquisitive.

It has been spitting with rain on and off all day but not unpleasant at all, many more folk there this year at this time.

All vehicles unloaded and camp set up, ready for what comes along, if you are bored pop down and have a chat and tea. :coffee:

  7. I notice they are allowing book in on the day.:yay:no doubt the numbers were down and this should help,i was going anyway in the car but will take the S1 now so you see the old way works, lets hope a few more shows go back to this ,its a good mixed show with plenty of militarys and huge autojumble.A lot for £8.I know Nick and G/hopper are booked in any one else?.cw.Sunday has Spit and Hurricane ,

We still take bookings on the day, never turn anybody away its the only way to run a show :coffee:

  8. I think there will always be veterans, as the world we live in today (to use your phrase) will always be at war somewhere, and there will always be some poor sod to fight it and hopefully survive it (A veteran)

Point gratefully taken Mark. I was, as you will imagine, talking about WW2 in particular.

No point to be made just wanted to expand a bit as will the hobby.

  9. ..

    - all too soon there will be no more Veterans, and the vehicles (plus the world we live in today, thank God) ".

I think there will always be veterans, as the world we live in today (to use your phrase) will always be at war somewhere, and there will always be some poor sod to fight it and hopefully survive it (A veteran)

Then the MV collector in future years will have new vehicles to "collect" and re-enact in, or do LH with etc, so I see this hobby as with other hobbies moving with the times that are to come.

  10. I have been harping on about this for months all this old stuff we drive around in benefits from this listen to the man.:-D

So if I done this on my landrover, then the problem of starting it when hot would/should go away. ?

  11. Hi. If I add in a T back to the tank as a bypass then there will be no back pressure to stop the pump working continuoiusly, nice lateral thinking though.

    QUOTE]

If the pipe is small and/or long enough, there will be! It is a trick sometimes used when fuel evaporation is a problem. It allows a continuous flow of fuel through most of the system which carries heat away from the componants.

    Trust me, it works!

Adrian, could you explain that in a bit more depth please (hard of hearing)
