Talking of 'fishing'
I have two of these in the shed that i gave £20.00 a piece for some time ago.
Therefore, according to eBay, i now have £1200.00 sat in my shed !
Happy hunting J. R. Hartley !

Well done Rik,
Keep up the good work.

Welcome in Colin,
Where are these photo's you discussed ? lets take a look at her then !
-
If you look at the rear of the vehicle, below and to the right of the main water inlet, there is a foam concentrate inlet socket.
About an inch bore. In your CES there should be a pipe that fits onto this socket (about six foot long) this pipe sucks the concentrate into the pump and mixes it with water on its way out.
I will try to find a photo of ours pumping foam at Rochdale Fire Service Museum.

Well done Rick,
If you need some help finding a turret let me know, i know where there is one with gun.
Stay lucky !

There should be a wiper blade fitted to the pin at the top.

You are correct, it is a 432 rain hood.
Good forward visibility, but nothing left or right.

Thanks. Great Pix but none of them show an Antar AND a Centurion!
SORRY !
If the two of them get together at weekend, i will take a photo and let you know.
-
You can see one in action this weekend at Heywood Tanks Yesteryear Festival if you like and take your own pics.
We have an Antar Mk2 and Mk3 with a dyson trailer with four centurions.
Not sure if the cent is going on the dyson, think we have too many flat tyres for that !
We'll see

This maybe useful to anyone having slow running problems with a J60 engine.
We cleaned the carburettor and jets using compressed air, as well as carb cleaner, then we found a jet with a damaged thread on top of the venturi tube (solex 190). The jet would not seat properly.
After removing and cleaning the idle mixture screws, by chance I injected compressed air into the mixture screw holes only to find that there were air leaks between the 2 halves of the carburettor body accompanied by bubbling carb cleaner at the joint.
The carburettor is in two halves with a gasket between. The 5 socket head screws holding the 2 parts of the carburettor together were all loose, even after tightening there were still slight leaks, so presumably the carburetor joints were warped. The fix was a very thin coat of Hylomar.
These issues, including a dirty carburettor will have contributed to poor running, and the joint leak may never have been found were it not by chance. Worth a check if you cannot get the vehicle to idle properly.
Diana
Thanks for the heads-up, I have to strip one in a couple of weeks time.
yes it is an unusual problem

Here's a photo of mine that had a rebuild in '88
It appears to have clansman fitted at that rebuild.
As yet i don't have the vehicles full history, but i will.
and i will take more pics of the clansman boxes fitted elsewhere in the vehicle.
harness works all round, and in the turret.
I hope this may shed some light ?

Does anyone have any details about the OIL FILTER that is fitted to a 1971 GAZ-66.
Any photos or model numbers would be a great help
Thanks in advance.

I'm hearing that "smiles to the mile"
I own two and have no issues at the moment, but because of scaremongery i am always waiting for something to break.
-
Danny,
would you let me see a picture of you bow gun ?
as i think i may have a cover for you
does it have an oval of attaching clips around the opening
-
After more research, the plotter appears to have issued with an FH70
so not the thing i am looking for, but at least you a little information relating to it.
-
Would you be interested in a trade for a spartan internal bulkhead panel ?
as i think the plotter belongs in the back of my Saracen Gun Position Officers
-
i may have a couple of options for you tomorrow.
i will need to make a couple of calls.
i'll get back to you PM
