  2. wartime clumber park 1st & 2nd june 2013 lovely location and set in the grounds where sir winston churchill visited during the war too view nellie the top secret trenching machine i think i said all this last year. wow doesnt time fly ! :shocked:

  4. while googling around i found there was a 6 wheeled AEC lorry kitted out for the royal army chaplains department and made into a mobile church and called, the motor church of saint george , and used in the middle east , i know chaplains rode around in jeeps then laid out items on the bonnet for church service , but never knew about the mobile AEC church did you ! there are pics on google of it and someone has made a dinky toy code 3 model of the mobile church on ebay , do you know of any other vehicles used for this purpose by chaplains and any pics , feel free to add the pic of the motor church of saint george , for me for this thread , something different for a change , :coffee:

  9. yes NOS think twice before you act ! take them under your wing ,remove a few roof tiles on your house ect and feed them daily for they did there bit too during the war
  10. yes i watched this too ! pigeons where a great piece of kit during the war . my dad keeps racing pigeons and won loads of trophies with them. i dont like them really but they did play an important role during the war :-)
  11. always painted my vehicles with a small fine sponge roller does a good job !

  14. in our clubhouse bar they have landed the lanc on jacks new bowling green ! :shocked:
  15. 70 year anniversary today of the dambusters raid. watched the lancaster on the local news fly over the derwent dam ,sadly missed it flying over sheffield and derbyshire live though !
