Dambusters - here at about 1:24 onwards:
-
The speed of response on this forum sometimes amazes me. Brilliant.
Titfield Thunderbolt picture here (described as WOT3):
http://www.imcdb.org/vehicle_116405-Fordson-30cwt-WOT3-GS.html
Certainly only looks like a single rear axle - I'll have to watch the film again to make sure!
A WOT1 (a crash tender) here:
http://www.imcdb.org/vehicles.php?make=&model=WOT1
And for Robert, some WOA2s:

This programme shows what may be a WOT1 crew bus at about 16:53. It's very brief and obscurred. Can someone do a screen dump and post it?

No problem. I've just realised they have a couple of command car bodies for sale - you may not have noticed either!

These repro ammo boxes look neat... http://www.midwestmil.com/dodgewc15.html#topwcp15
-
These people seem to do a lot of repro parts, so can probably give advice: http://www.midwestmil.com/index.html

Howard, what are you doing... what are you getting?

I knew there was a tourer at the Shuttleworth collection. Didn't know they had a tender - it's not on their site: http://www.shuttleworth.org/shuttleworth_vehicles.asp
Any pictures of, or history about, it?
-
Have a look here: http://www.hmvf.co.uk/forumvb/showthread.php?t=14019

Nice 8-page of historical intro...
Malzeffs, now there's a make you don't hear every day. In fact, never heard of them before and can't immediately find anything on them.

Charawhacky, is your staff car the lime green one that was for sale? A friend of mine was interested but didn't realise how much the seller wanted for it - shame, i'd have looked great in the back in my RFC gear!
See post 9 here: http://hmvf.co.uk/forumvb/showthread.php?p=148288#post148288

Ah, I thought it looked like the Peacock's example - with an Irish registration for the event. Good on them.

I didn't know the Tilbury Fort group have a Morris CDSW six-wheeler. It looks very smart.

Restored in Britain by Richard Peskett. He has also restored a second Milnes-Daimler bus for a Dutch client.

Here's a 1912 Benz at the Mercedes museum in Germany - much nearer the WW1 model:

One that got away - post 30 here: http://www.mapleleafup.org/forums/showthread.php?t=13088

To throw something else into the mix, I see Wheels and Tracks #30 quotes the kerb weight of the GS at 5850 lbs and its gross weight as 8950 lbs. Does that make its weight load 3100 llbs? At 2240 lbs to the UK ton, that means the weight load is 1.38 tons or 27.68 cwt!
There was a 30 cwt variant of the C9. Based on these figures, it's not hard to see why.
-
Silly question (from me): Is the load carrying weight of the 15cwt, not 15cwt?
-
Yes, this is more or less what I heard - that basically the collection itself isn't tied up in a foundation/trust as people had assumed and that those inheriting Jaques' estate can do as they wish.
-
I was speaking to an informed source at W&P yesterday about the future of the MVTF following the death of Jaques Littlefield (http://hmvf.co.uk/forumvb/showthread.php?t=11215).
The suggestion was the workshops are closed, staff laid off, the family are not interested in continuing the project and want to clear the site, and collection up for sale (some already sold) at potentially give away prices.
Can anyone corroborate this?

Flicking through wheels & Tracks magazine #67 I was reminded of the work of Pavel Holý: http://www.vintagecarart.cz/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=55&Itemid=62&lang=en
A talented artist.

Miliblog is growing to be a quite respectable site. The last time I looked there were only a few entries on it. I hope the designer will allow owners or other photographers to submit pictures as well - it could end up being an interesting resource.

Plenty of vintage wedding cars...
and these Sentinel steam buses

All this talk about problem windscreen frames reminds me of an article a few years ago about a chap who restored a Fordson 7V and had his remade in brass by Brasscraft, based near Guildford (Classic & Vintage Commercials, Jan 2004):
"You'd never find precision engineers like them. I gave them the remains of an original to use as a pattern. The results were unbelievable."
I assume they're these people: http://www.isurrey.co.uk/profile/464086/Farnham/Brasscraft-Windscreen-Frame-Manufacturers/
Perhaps you Austin owners should club together and get a batch made?
Fault finding challenge!
in I may be stupid, but......

Reminds me of the old joke about the [insert put upon race/creed of choosing] vehicle inspector who when asked whether the indicators were working replied: "yes... no... yes... no... "
