  1. Bear with me. I'll have to dig out the book and then I think the beat thing will be to scan it, then post it. It might take a while with the Oswestry show this weekend and a Classic Car to paint by the beginning of July. But keep an eye out I will post it and some of the photos I took at the Museum. A little nostalgia.
  2. First of all Thank you to the warm welcome. To rely to your requests here are some examples of my work, and if you are keen on seeing a wider selection of the work that I do please do have a look on my website. All feed back and comments are always appreciated. I look forward to speaking to you further. http://www.david-walker.org.uk
  3. I have the full story of the trip to Libiya to recover the Chevrolet. I don't know why but I did my College thesis on the trip and still have it amongst my reference books. I can share the details should anybody be that interested.
  4. Hi Mike, That was one of my favourite images that I painted when I was in College. I still have the painting to this day. You wouldn't happen to have any more details about the owners would you? Best Wishes, David.
  5. While in College, I started producing paintings of the Vehicles at the Museum. I did my first job in Business for the Museum and subsequently produced the Artwork for several of their leaflets. As well as the set of postcards of vehicles at the museum, a couple of which I still have today, I did some of the background display images, and in particular the desert scene for the LRDG Chevrolet. I have always had a keen interest in Military subjects for paintings, and so much of the reference material came from photos taken at the Grange Cavern. I did keep in touch with the Curator of the Museum, who concentrated on his haulage Business after it closed. I will have to scan some of the photos of the museum and post them for anyone interested.
  6. I am David Walker and I live in Shropshire, between Shrewsbury and Oswestry. My passion for Military Vehicles started as a schoolboy, making the Tamiya Kits. I then developed my interest to painting images of them for my last year in Art College. It was here that I developed strong contacts with the Grange Cavern Military Museum in Holywell, North Wales. I took lots and lots of photos of the Collection and produced many paintings of Vehicles found at the museum. I also produced a set of postcards for them and several of their Promotional leaflets. I still have all of the photos of the museum and some of the Paintings that I did all those years ago. My interest in Military Vehicles is still prominent and I have produced several images over the years, including work for a couple of Regiments. I don't own any of my own vehicles, yet, but that doesn't take away my fascination of them. I look forward to speaking to fellow members, and maybe even meeting some of you at forthcoming events and shows. My next one is the Oswestry Military Vehicle Show this coming weekend, the 22nd and 23rd June. If any of you are going, please do come along to my stand and say hello.
