  1. I can't remember if I posted these two paintings I did from many years ago, I think they were actually part of my College work that led me into the Military paintings.
  2. If you have a photo you particularly like and post it or personal message me, and we can take it from there.
  3. I developed my line drawing in College, mainly microwaves, hoovers and other household appliance. But it did put the foundations in for the later work. Here is a pure Line Drawing that was used for the Grange Cavern and one of their leaflets, many moons ago. And yes I would be up for a Dodge drawing. What exactly are you looking for?
  4. I wanted to share with you the start of another Pencil Drawing. This time it is the SAS version from North Africa. The reference photo wasn't quite so hot, but a cool dull day on the outskirts of Oswestry. I will share the finished drawing when it is completed.
  5. Any information you can share will be greatly appreciated, and thank you for taking the time to share your experiences. As an Artist it is always my aim to be accurate with my paintings.
  6. Thank you both for the input, it all helps, as accuracy is important for the finished Painting. I will certainly take all onboard and discuss with the client. All advice and help is as always greatly appreciated.
  7. Thank you noticing that Neil. The client had mentioned it as well, so a little alteration there as well.
  8. That does help, again Thank you. Maybe I'll use Artistic Licence and assume that one of the softskin transports is just out of picture. But it is great to have feedback before making the mistakes and then asking. I'll pass on the comments to the client.
  9. A few alterations to the soldiers and changed the barrel on the BMP
  10. Neil, That is great, again. Thank you. I will make some alterations and take it from there. Regards, David.
  11. I do have the top one thank you, but not the bottom one, so that is a big help. Is the top one the BMP - 2 as I have been told that the BMP - 2 on the drawing looks like a BMP - 1. I am also keen to have the correct uniform on the figures, and those walking/running need to be accurate. But yes they do help thank you.
  12. I have been speaking to the client and I need to refine the design slightly. He is after the 1985/86 theatre and it has to be the BMP - 2. If there are any specific differences you might know of that would be a great help, and if you have any photos that could help I would be more than grateful. I have included a copy of the design so far and I would like to try and keep it similar to this. If you have any questions please do let me know. Regards, David.
  13. Please don't go to those lengths, which are much appreciated. I have started the job with photographic reference now. Any further photos would be secondary reference, and I am sure if there are any accuracy issues the client will let me know. thank you again for your kind offer.
  14. I am looking at the European theatre. And thank you for the advice.
  15. If anyone has any photos they could let me use as reference material for a painting I have for a client I would be most grateful. The image is of Soviet Troops leaving a BMP -2 CIRCA 1985/86. Good quality reference photos would be greatly appreciated along with any re-enactors of Soviet Troops of the same period. Many thanks for any help offered.
  16. I am currently looking to produce a Pencil Drawing of a Sherman Tank. Nothing specific, but I am open to suggestions. If any of you have a photo of a Sherman that you won't mind me using as reference material to do the drawing. A three quarter view from the front would be the preferred angle. If any one can help with this request I would be most grateful.
  17. Thank you. An avid interest in the subject always helps.
  18. Hi Russ, I guess the closest has been the Quad which I did many years ago in College. Since then it tends to be commissioned work taking priority. If you were interested then please do let me know and we can have a chat. If you prefer to e-mail me please do so david@david-walker.org.uk Apart from that I have about a dozen of my own ideas that I want to do as paintings when I can find the time. Hope that helps and I hope to speak soon. Regard, David.
  19. Thank you for your comments, and not a lot of Airborne vehicles, but a few figures.
  20. Sunday June 14th -Welshpool Airport. 'The best little Air Show in the Country' is how this event is listed. A great day out for all of the family. A wide selection of displays, ground attractions and Vehicles on display.
  21. Hi Paul, Will you be having any Trade stands at the event and if so do you have any details? Regards, David.
  22. A recent commission that I have drawn of a Challenger 2 that has proved to be very popular.
  23. Hi Trevor, I use a commercial Photographer who copies the image in his studio and save it to disk. The image is photographed with a colour scale and tonal scale at the side of the image to help the printer with colour matching. Then its off to the printer with all of the information. The beauty of todays Printing is with Giclee Printing you can digitally set everything up and print to order. The standard Lithograph way is to have the full Print run completed. If you need any more information Trevor please don't hesitate to contact me. Regards, David.
  24. This is a recent commission of the Red Arrows over Welshpool. It was commissioned after last years Air Show. Again I have thought about producing Prints with a donation from each sale to go to the Air Show fund, and support what is a great local event each year.
