  1. Hi Peter,

Good work r.e. your investigation of this bowser's circumstances and the photo's taken ! Did the bowser have its cabinet doors on it's far end in place ?

I wonder if any forum member knows of it's likely period of manufacture.

I will be watching to see how this bowser's welfare develops, it’s a hansom vehicle !

    Nick

PS - i have now rescued (At last) the Brockhouse 450 Gal bowser from near Basingstoke: i will post a few photo's soon.

I was starting to wonder what has happend to it, glad you rescued it, look forward to the pictures.

  2. Just got my copy of Military Machines and there's a good report in it on Overlord 2011 and its seams the other show didnt do very well at all going by the article in the same mag ????

  3. Glad you got home ok, thanks again for the help with the howitzer :)

I'd just like to add my congratulations to the "Overlord" show team.

We arrived lunchtime friday and were welcomed warmly. We had a fantastic weekend and the whole group enjoyed themselves. Some came home yesterday but wished they could have done the extra night like we did.

Thanks to Rosie and co for seeing us out onto the road lunchtime today when we finally made a move.

Nice pics posted, and thanks again to all the organisers, have a pat on the back and we'll definately be back next year.

  4. Thanks Rambo for the kind words about the old girl, glad you like it

What Can I say about the show

    FANTASTIC FANTASTIC AND FANTASTIC

    Fantastic Site and layout

Fantastic helpful and friendly staff. A big thank you to Gary Lamsdale for organising help to load and unload the Howitzer.

Fantastic Event, the best way to start the season, I agree with the person who said about it being a mini beltring without the muppets. This show is the best one on the circuit without doubt.

A favorite of mine at the show was this amoured motorbike, its the only one in the world as far as the owner knows and was built from photos from the Imperial War Museum

See photos below of my toy and the bike

  5. Thanks Rob and Mav,

Can you get a nice close up shot? If I can't borrow an original I might have to make up a blank to get cast so it would be good to get it right. Brass casting is not cheap, either you have an expensive mold made or cast in sand, which is expensive in time as the mould has to be remade for every pour and there is much more cleaning up of the part.

I was going to do my own casting using white metal but I would much prefer brass.

Please let me know by Sunday if you would like to buy the plate as I have other members who are interested if you don't buy it ??

    Many thanks

  6. have found the plate, its no Origanal, I think its a copy as its made of Ali or something like that but not brass.

    It reads

    No 6586

    Carriage, How, 105mm

    M2A2

    Parish Pressed Steel Co

    1953

Its not the sharpest casting but it is readable, if you painted it brass colour, or green like the gun it would look fine

I'll try and post pictures over the weekend, its for sale if your interested ???
