  1. Righto guys here goes....typical tank crew clothing consisted of the Tanker Jacket...actually Jacket Armored Forces Winter Combat Bib and Brace Overalls....Winter combat trousers Armored forces winter Cap....... Tankers Helmet and wool shirts...... but it was also possible to wear HBT coveralls and wool shirts and trousers in warmer climates and weather and with typical US ability all were supplied and ALL were eventually mix and matched The tankers helmet were done away with by the very end of the war and the regular M1 steel helmet was being used. 17. Hi Jack i fall into the category of an ex Dodge owner.....my WC52 had a good history as she was a Norwegian import but was originally a WC55 or M6 Gun Motor Carraige with the 37mm gun on the back..she still retained all the early features ....high sided seats ..re enforced chassis and early steering wheels etc etc.... and was one of the earliest Dodges in the country with a chassis number of 81529098...considering production of the 3/4 ton WC series started at 8152901 that made her the 97th Dodge off of the production line....:-) But then i had a complete no brainer and sold it and went and brought a scra.....piece of ****..... a complete nightmare...oh sorry a Jeep...... Regards Lloyd
  18. Hi mate the FT-250 was the standard radio mount for SCR 609/610 and SCR 284 radios The BC 1306 and AN GRC 9 had a different style mount Your Dodge would have had the BC659 or SCR 610 suitcase radio fitted as standard Regards Lloyd
  19. Was a Green Sheller #5 a purely GPW thing and not fitted to early MBs ????................. :? Regards LLoyd
  20. Rowan unfortunatley that is the correct place which did involve cutting the seats.....thats why they give you four adjudstment spacings for the seats on the troop body. If you wanted to keep the seats original and intact then mount it centrally off of the front bulkhead on an FT-250 mount with support legs to the floor and then the set could be used by either driver or co- driver...... To be honest "official" mounting places tended to go out of the window a day after June 6th 1944 and convenience took over..... Regards Lloyd
  21. I have also seen them on the slant of the wheel house driver side between the driver seat and the tub side. Near where the bolt goes through into the driver seat Also on the dash and top of the rifle bracket on the windshield Regards Lloyd

Do you want an Acme Anally retentive type 1 mark 1 moment ?? actually Colbert was NOT C -30 Colbert was C-36 Conan was C-30 The 82nd Recon took the "C" Tactical nicknames from local towns and Villages around the area where they trained prior to being shipped overseas. I really gotta get out more  Regards Lloyd
  24. Hi Kewelde...no definatley not......thats is for 100% sure.....here is what one memeber of the G503 told me..... From: geoff bull To: Leatherneck17 Posted: Mon Oct 03, 2005 12:54 pm Subject: Re: re fender to tub fit Hi loyd yes I been there twice once with a CJ2a and now with an MB it appears to only be with the tubs in O/D the newer ones they changed the angle its not much out but enough to be a pain in the butt to get over and whats more it doesn`t help any even if you had Juan wings there still the same, you have really two choices on from here either you redo the angle by cutting it off and repositioning it or try and fit it as it is.if you go this way bolt the wing to the tub first once you have done that force up the front of the wing without bending the top of the wing, they are fairly flexable and you will note it will be the inner wing that moves slightly but not by much,if you get this far check out the holes for the wing top hat to see how they line up if they are just a small amout out you can just enlarge them to help with the alignment regards geoff it looks like M D JUan had a problem with earlier tubs....the ones in green...but the later O/D ones they changed the angle of the "slant....
