No thats EXACTY what i wanted to hear mate...because that was going to be the last resort but before i did that i wanted to consult the oracle..... I have elongated the 3 holes where they bolt to the front grill Elongated the two fender support to chassis mount bolt holes and cut the "tab" off where it bolts to the chassis top on the driver side above the shock absorber and the still dont quite line up...its like the angle of the tub isnt quite the same as the fender angle. Kewelde sorry mate missed the post...i have the correct ??? repro tub mount rubber spacer kits and tub mount pads from TS Autos.....i was using a small 1/2 ton bottle jack with all the tub bolts and radiator brace and oil pressure guage line disconnected and was raisin and lowering to try and align the fenders to tub. Karoshi..yes mate thats it orginal front fenders(wings) to a M D Juan tub....the driver side is horrendously out and the passenger side is a little off too any tips buddy before i lose what little hair ive got left...:-) Regards Lloyd

OK here goes.....Jack its not only you that has bad days mate........ Has anybody here successfully fitted their front fenders to their MB/GPW with original wings and repro tubs.... Easy job i thought.....OH YEAH...all day lots of swearing..head scratching.....thrown hammers and copious pondering...... :roll: All tub bolts loose.....front grill loose...small bottle jack used..... Oddball ...morning mate there was no such QM designation as Trousers Winter Combat M1943..... There was an pair of Winter Combat M1941.Trousers...that accompanied the Type 2 Parsons Jacket (Winter)...Thats an Artic M41 to you and me....... but these aint them.... But the M43 uniform set up was supposed to be based on the layering princible so a designated Winter pair of M43 trousers was not correct and never produced. The tankers used to have Trousers Winter Combat....but these were the "Bib and Brace" coveralls.... If i had to stick my "hunch" on them i would say either Experimental or maybe lightweight Flying Trousers but saying that then they would have an Air Corps Black and Gold spec label in !!!!! Or maybe something made post WW2 for Korea for the M51 uniform.... Hang on i just had a look at the pic of the spec label again.....and that is concurrent with the size and shape of the Naval Clothing Factory Tag...... They could be U S NAVY ........... :shock: Certainly is a strange one that mate..... I gotta get out more..... :roll: Regards Lloyd

I just love M8s...i will make the 1/35th scale Tamiya one then when the divorce and house finances are sorted out i will move up to a 1/1th scale one..................:-) So did you use the photo etch kits or any add ons by Royal for the kit ?? Hi Oddball.....the side zips usually were a sign of Womens clothing but i dont think thats the case in this instance...... My personal opinion is they are either experimental or "modified" set of trousers..... The zip is it either TALON...CONMAR.....or SERVAL because that could date them to WW2 Let me know regards Lloyd

Dont forget the bulkhead fuel filter that is normally FULL of rust that makes a percentage of them NOT RUN......at all A good Norwegian Dodge will have blue plates on all the major components thats shows the date of repair or replacement of the part. Also check for leaking brake drums where the wheel cylinder seals have perished. Rotten Wiring looms Perished armored fuel lines...especially the one that goes under the engine Make sure the carb heat shield is there and on rebulding the water pump make sure the water gallery in the cooling jacket of the engine block is clear.
