I was thinking that the building looked like a church as well - massive masonary and not aligned to the later street plan

I played around with streetview a bit, but there are so many buildings and trees that block the view. However, I laid the original on this and the peaks seem to line up fairly well, given that different lenses were used on the two cameras.

It is on today's Via Vincenzo Grosso, not far from route 6.

The 'WRIGHTS' canvas covered saddles were not made for motorcycles. They were in fact a gun layers seat for an artillery piece.

I think the clue is in the Essex title of the show. In Estuary English " Paanda", to give it its correct spelling is the Essex equivalent of the Home Counties "Pownder"

Is that 'pownder' as in 'own'?

Yes, looks like very narrow bars on the tire - and that is a fine pair of Quads following behind! Are the Z number plates standard for the army?

As there are several such guns in such a 'small' area, it suggests that they may have been imported together. In which case, might one of the owners be the importer or have purchased their gun from the importer?

Hi Dan, I suspect that the temperatures might go way beyond the limits of Belzona, and it is a pretty tough environment in the cylinder with its pressure waves, combustion, scraping and so on.

However, if you happened to know someone with a similarly pitted engine of no particular value that you could try it on, I would be interested to see the results.

So I assume that the air cylinder works in parallel to the manual clutch pedal system? Is it possible for the air cylinder to be out of adjustment such that it effects the adjustment of the clutch pedal system?

If they do find the amber room in Poland then the question is what will they do with it? I cannot see the Russian authorities not demanding it back, but would they be prepared to exchange it for the art that was taken away from Poland after the war for 'reparations'?

Ah, so that also answers my other question of how the spare wheel was held on. So if I have got it right there is long bolt, that can fold down, and the wheel retaining plate fits in those clips when the spare wheel is not in place? Presumably there is enough room to tweak the wing nut tight to stop the retaining plate from jumping out of the clips when driving without the spare wheel in place.

When we see the work you are doing it is hard to appreciate how much research you are doing in the background!

Is that switch panel and gear lever gate original, or something added later? I am not really familiar with the cab layout on these.

That is one fat exhaust pipe for that size of engine, I wonder what revs they were planning to get out of it :shocked:

What is the purpose of this feature? I see pictures of quads with a plate in this location, and others that have nothing at all in this area, and I am mystified as to its use...

I would look for some photos of the relevant personnel doing the kind of action you wish to portray, and use them as the basis for your 'look'.
