  1. Hi again If you want photos of the lightweight landrover carrier, the lightweight book by mark Cook has some excellent IWM sourced photos, previously the Steyr Puch haflinger was used, I will see if I can find my in service photo and email it to you if you would like it. Regards dave
  2. I have seen a picture somewhere( total recall may come back lol) showing a couple of forward control countys in a vehicle park in the falkland so they did make it out. The above photes of the Bigland 754 version (as RNLI) are interesting this one is shown in Stuart Gibbards County Tractor Book and is placed in Outer Hebrides could it be a drone Recovery from Benbecula, been trying to source photos of vehicles from there but not much available Hope this helps regards dave

If memory serves me right they were built by glover Webb for EOD duties in Ireland. this one is the wheelbarrow transporter there is another variant with the Sankey RAF style workshop body fitted which carried jamming equipment,have a photo somewhere of one "in country on ops" They were helicptered in to bandit country and I believe they replaced the bodyless Land Rover Lightweight used previously by the RAOC/RLC Hope this helps PS there is an article in Military Machines International but not sure of date as dont have my collection at hand but will find out, Cheers Dave

Just a suggestion could it be ex fire service, saw a picture a couple of years ago in a local newspapers weekly historical photo magazine that showed a similar set up being tested by Northumberland Fire Brigade in early 50s in a snow drift, idea was an off road rescue vehicle, suppose early idea of the scottrack and Supacat,based on a Bren carrier but with similar bodywork Cheers Dave
  5. Hi all Remember reading somewhere that there was a specialised Land Rover with Hi Top body and a Decca Marine type radar fitted and used in Gibraltar then Northern Ireland so I believe, has anyone any photos showing the bodywork etc
