Dave Where abouts are you? I have just loaded some pics re another retriever similar to the one you have shown. Different engine number etc.

Hi All Found this today and was hoping someone could shed a little bit of light on it. From what i understand it is a Leyland Hippo WLW Retriever. I have no idea how it came to be here or any other information. It is a huge restoration job.

One of the first displays we attended with our living history group. In the background is a 1917 Indian Power Plus and a 1946 Dutch Built Willys Jeep chassis.

Here are a few pictures of our M741B. It was a full restoraton from someones attempt at a civilian paint job back in the 80's. Totally stripped and rebuilt, engine upgraded to 750cc, hours of research into Units, equipment and all the usual 'no records found' answers. Luckily enough after it was finished we met a WWII veteran who rode one and had some photos and all the work had paid off. It has been designated as part of 5th Division (NZ South), 3rd Platoon Royal NZ Military Police, 3rd Field Det. and has a 48 Set Radio on the carrier.

Well congrats. We have a winner. Exactly right. Whilst it takes a bit of getting used to a foot clutch, left hand throttle, right hand spark advance and suicide shift they are a lot of fun to ride. With a few mods they will even sit at 100kph without to much trouble and every HD owner will stop and look at your Indian.

Very nice Power Plus you have there. And to have it sitting with the aircraft just makes it even better.

The Indians have arrived... Set up the Wigwam and send the smoke signals. Will be uploading pictures soon. The joys a left hand throttle.. (who knows the reason they made the throttle left handed?) Harleys posed for Photos Indians were to busy working.

Hi Simon. Top of the South Island. A town called Blenheim is home base. There are a few attractions of a military nature in NZ. Firstly (and most importantly) the South Island. The main RNZAF Museum is located at Wigram (ex airforce base that never should have been closed). In Blenheim we have a very well presented WWI aviation based heritage centre. The head hobbit (Peter Jackson's) own private collection is on display there. If you go up north the main Army Museum is based at the Waiouru Army Training Camp and there is the National Museum in Auckland which also has large displays of militaria, weapons and a surviving Zero. I can link you with some of the 44 South group who have a large collection of vehicles. There are members all over belonging to various Military Vehicle groups but there seems to be a 'barrier' between militaria collectors and MV owners. (shame really) Let us know when you are in country and we might be able to organise a meeting.

Hi Team Does anyone have any pieces of ATS or ATA uniform surplus to requirements? We are trying to put together a drivers kit for our staff car and ATA kit for our local Tiger Moth syndicate. Thanks

Hi Nathan. Am ex RNZAF Provo. Were the last Provo course to graduate from Wigram before they closed her down. Would be good to keep in touch as we are just up in Blenheim. Hope you are surviving all the issues at present with quake damage. Trying to get a military history group up and running in your part of the country as it seems to be lacking a bit down there. Send us a message and we will try and meet up next time we are down. Regards

We are members of a military and home front preservation society, with a large collection of uniforms, equipment and vehicles. Group members have a number of vehicle projects at present and some of them include: 1918 Indian Power Plus (probably US military scheme) 1938 Hillman Minx Naval Staff Car 1939 Standard Flying 12 Staff Car 1942 Indian M741B Desert Scheme amongst others.
