I qualified on the SLR left handed in 1982 but they made me fire the Sterling right handed as it was a blow back weapon. The only way I could qualify was by completing the burst fire classification by firing bursts of 1 round.

Dave, get a new battery from fleabay about £8. Open the back and plug it in. I have done it, it is really easy. Just put in tom tom battery. Needs a v small screwdriver.

As for the charging port, try a small computer repair shop. Its all the same small usb socket, either that or squeeze it closed with small pliars.

The bike is looking fab. I only hope it is not going to be like the bloke who built a boat in his shed and then couldnt get it out without knocking down the shed, or in your case taking the bike apart again..............

I tried to start the 432 last week and although the fuel pump was priming, the starter circuit was completely dead. I charged the batteries and still nothing.

It was cured by tightening EVERY electrical plug from all the junction boxes and panels. It may be the cold weather is shrinking metal and causing rubber plug waterproofing to contract but I was able to get another quarter turn on almost all of them and problem now sorted.

Make sure your batteries do not freeze folks and put plenty of antifreeze in the cooling systems.

A load of that stuff gets sold at Beltring each year, some if it still live. A cililian lecturer at Sandhurst used to bring it over and take it apart until he was killed a few years back when one went off as he was working on it. Dangerous stuff.

Silvering mirrors is really specialist stuff. Its not the silvering that is difficult but stopping from degrading and falling off shortly after.

I have got a Fuze setter which I have just stuck in the back of the 436, it powers up just fine but I dont know what vehicle it should go into?

I think this is a fuze setter. Can anyone tell me what it does and more importantly, what vehicle it would fit in? I put some power into it and it seems to work ok. I have stuck in in the back of the 436 but wondered where it should really be put (polite answers only)

A big thanks to Mark Heliops today. I have spent ages mucking about with switches and meters in the back of the 432, trying to get the interior lights to work.

He spotted 2 plugs lucking in the depths behind one of the switching boxes and the air blower that were dangling in space. Connect into the switching box and Hey presto We have light. Wouls you prefer Red or White light sir?

Rob, Make sure you get a modern pulse charger - they are excellent at keeping batteries good and can revive old ones. I have got a 'Ring' from Halfords and I think the top model does 6 or 12 volt. Certainly it is up to your amp requirements.

I paid about £50 for mine and I think the better one is about £80. Someone will google it in a minute.

Tell me more Andy. There are two boxes with switches on the bulkhead just forward of the blower unit. I have tested all the fuses and tried every combination of switching. Is there another master?

Yes mate, it was wired for Bowman so I have put Clansman boxes and wiring in. The problem is with the electrics in general. I cant get the interior lights to work at all and the small silver junction box on the right hand wall by the radio trays does not have any power to it at all. I have had to plug directly into the distribution box for now.

I have managed to find a source of volts to put through the newly installed Clansman intercom in the 432 and it works. Will put up some pics of the installation later. Feeling very pleased with myself - that is all.

Any reason why a Mk1 in particular? There are plenty of cheap Mk2/1's about in excellent nick with very low miles.

As I said at the time "Look on the bright side, at least it wasn't the car keys or the wallet." Mind you, it only took the lads about 3 posts to get it right.......

We tried everything, tubing, bent wire, vacuum cleaner, mirror on a stick but it was obvious from very early on (to me) that it was staying in there until the GUE comes out.

AS the title states, What could Mark Heliops be doing? The vehicle is his ARRV, I will let him tell you later...........

Routing those cables which control the auxilliary engine was a real pain but hopefully they will work a bit better now.

The ultrasonic mice deterents do work in an enclosed space, but so does a twenty bore.

Yep, rigid or category C must be done first, then the C+E, E being the trailer. Sorry Tony a great explanation but it has changed since you did it and the gear change exercise is no longer included. There is however a part where you have to find your own way along the route without directions.
