  1. Sorry Lee Enfield,

Must take you to task here, it is RAOC Southern Command, check out the other sign, vertical stripes of red-blue-red (RA is blue-red in vertical stripes)

COSD, I think this is Command Ordnance Supply Depot and the wording underneath, could well be Aldershot, which would fit in with Southern Comd. These signs would date from the 1950's era.

nice one cheers guys, excellent to know the truck was local before leaving the service

  3. flying ahead now! managed to get sa few more bits and bobs done. got the front bumper, panel and radiator out. Wings are a bit rotten but managed to pick up a pair out of CMV this week, sweet :-D

Radiator came out with ease and looks to be in quite good nick. Picked up a couple more wheels as well.

found the rebuild plate on the engine and radiator, i love finding this sort of thing, gives it a proper history.

Any ideas where i might find the chassis number?

  4. yep, i agree, a leyland.

  5. may be one like this? it has a very distinctive rear panel on the cab with a deep cut out in the middle. i have been told its a pontoon carrier but i'm no expert on these trucks. it's a 6 wheeler but could not see the front axle so not sure of 6x4 or 6x6. mechanically its all there but in poor state.

maybe looking for a new home?

  6. Pop,

    anyone else had problems?

  7. 1952 Jeep trailer built for the M38 jeep, its the same dimensions as a WW2 triler but has fatter tyres and different handbrake. made between 1951 and 1953.
