You could try this one but as stated previous very few campaign medals were issued by this time. Google them to check.
Possibly a Jubilee Medal as well.

Trade/Qualification Badges are a bit different and Americans seem to get medals for everything.
I wear my modern ribbons but a lot of people would say that is wrong as well but Joe public does not know the difference.

Most people would say that any kind of medal for valour would be a no no unless you have earned it.
The only campaign medal which would have been issued by this time would have been the Africa Star.
If you look old enough to be a pre-war Territorial (12 years service) you could wear the Territorial Efficiency Medal.

Most people would say however don't wear medals/ribbons you are not entitled to.

The wing is Light Infantry.
I would assume the rank is meant to represent a Major (crown).

As I am sure you are aware this is a Army Cadet Force BD belonging to an adult instructor. The organisation in its current form dates to 1942 when the titles shown were introduced.
Not sure which County the badge denotes.
If you have any interest in selling please let me know.

There were a range of light-weight camouflage tents produced late in the war and probably saw very little service if any.
Is it war-time dated? Clive did some articles on tents in Windscreen so may be able to comment further.

Halon only really works in confined spaces where it is toxic to humans. Military training films show the extinguishers being let off and dropped into turret hatches and the lids closed behind so the gas can form a blanket.
I tried to fight a Carburettor Fire once on a Land Rover and it just fanned the flames.
Co2 is probably best but forget about finding ones to fit the brackets. Leave the others for show and get a big Co2 Extinguisher.
Depending on what period you are portraying with your Saracen, Halon might not even be historically correct.

Having thought more about this , all of the examples I have are used condition,I don,t know what the policy is now,I remember in the 1970,s used kit was often reissued ,sometimes several times over ,especially dpm jackets,not so much trousers if I recall.And a couple of mates I knew back in the 80,s in the T.A used to be issued some really worn kit,clothing and 58 webbing.( and I mean worn).
When I joined the TA in 1980 I was issued with second hand washed out 69 pattern DPM's. The jacket had bailer twine as the waist tie.
I have been told that a lot of the unissued MTP coming out now is kit which has been surplus to unit requirements and returned to central stores (Doddington?). Rather than try to put it back into the system especially with different patterns in circulation, it is sent straight to surplus.

From memory although I have not seen them for some time I think my spare ones are in a Lucas Box.
I plan to visit my garage this weekend if that is any good.

They must presumably be standard Lucas items. Try someone like the Green Spark Plug Company.

The armoured hull is very unlikely to be original so build your own.

Reproduction Dischargers are manufactured for FV432's but there is no demand for Saracens as most were released with their Dischargers fitted before the Home Office decided they were illegal.

The Northern Ireland up armoured examples like the Pigs are also worth less than vehicles in their original configuration as you can do less with them.

Not made in Portugal just supplied to them from new.

I have recently received my renewal for my Mk11* Universal Carrier from Premium Choice for £205.00.
Thus is based on an agreed value of £12,000 which is now out of date and they will want to increase this to cover the new value.
What prices do other members get charge?

I have the Russian copy which does have a leather case but it is very hard to pull them out once in.

Does anyone have a spare case please for the British Army issue Avimo Bonoculars or can post a picture so I can see what I am looking for.
I believe they also came with filters which were attached to the strap.
Still looking for an issue case for these Binoculars and also now a locking ring which secures the rubber eye piece on.

It would be useful to see some pictures in use showing markings but probably unlikely.
Off the top of my head only 3000 were build of which all apart from about 300 were winch equipped.
Some were also air portable by splitting the cab. Seems like a lot of trouble to go to for such a limited requirement.

Does anyone know the specific reason why the winch equipped Karrier K6 was produced. I am assuming that it is the only British produced 3 ton winch Truck.
Were they allocated to LAD's or some other specific role. There must have been a reason to make them.

To be honest, I know nothing about this other than its gun number 17 and I was advised by another hmvf member it was from Portugal. It certainly has portugese brass labels on it.
Everything has got number 17 stamped on it !!
i have got to get the tyres replaced ( they actually have WD and the arrow on them ) and althought the bearings seem to be very good, I will get some spares just in case
It looks like one of the early Swedish produced guns. The book 'The 40mm Bofors Gun' records that the Portuguese Army brought 54 in 1939-40. 48 British produced guns were supplied at a later date.

I have a radiator in the garage which will need rebuild but I believe the tanks are good.

The Light Infantry was a Regiment in its own right made up of all the old LI Regiments.
