Another good days out
-
Compared to previous years the weather started out ok,By the time the rain arrived we had finished the off rd course so were ready for lunch.
I think the organisers deserve a mention, the event was not swamped with to much H&S,but all sensable precautions were taken. Thanks to those involved.
Also i hate to say it but Mercedes must be thanked for allowing the vehicles on there off rd course. This year they also allowed two set aside viewing areas for non driving visitors actually on the course, and they were ferried back and fourth by a routemaster.Without the off rd facility i think this event at this time of the year would struggle.
The number of vehicles attending was good allthough the pattern for smaller vehicles was evident,i think pat counted 30 jeeps,Landrover nos were also high.Yes i know i took one.
Champ attendence was good also.
The prize of the day went to the GMC Refueler,a regular at several of the events recently.
HMVF members that i know were Steve Ryan,Grasshopper,Chris godward.
and here they are.
Think he enjoyed his day.
Grasshopper at the wheel
Not quite sure what hand signal he was giving here.
I was using the whole hand not just part :-D

I regularly see a couple of Stalwarts on the roadside between Cooksbridge and South Chailey in East Sussex. (A 275) The one that really interests me has a Hiab fitted to it. The owner has had several Army land Rovers there at times too, including the most interesting of those, being a forward control version
I know the guy with the land rovers the 101 is ex first gulf war. I think the stollys are his next door neigbours

Could just deport them :cool2:

NOS, see post #71 fixes and workarounds, for seal type, thanks for the input.
That's an odd looking seal. Is it the sealing face that's got a bit missing?
-
If its an external seal that is a seal that the sealing lip is on the outside almost certainly not available.
If an internal seal that is a "normal type" that the sealing lip is internal
The first is a bit of an odd outside size
The second looks to be a good size.
I'll have a check tomorrow

Lee's right I've been there twice this year Feburary and July
Februrary was blooming cold during the day Accomadation's allright Men in one room Women in another. It's worth a vist to see the museum.
Both times I've been disapointed by the lack of visitors
