  1. Hi boomboom, Paperwork posted yesterday, I think we will be looking to fire the 155's twice per day. Do you need to order more charges ?. I need to get ours on order from the same supplier, are they normally on stock ?. Probably worth a chat at some point to ensure we have all we need at the show site to fire our gun. Talk soon Ian201
  2. Hi Mate, Paper work for the show will be in post tomorrow morning (1st class). Best Regards ian201

  5. Hi BoomBoom, I will talk to my crew, looks like a good opportunity. Might bring the CVRT sabre up too. You would be more than welcome at the Overlord show 1st to 4th June. Get the two guns together for a good display, as have the MV press with us all weekend. Best Regards Ian
  6. Hi, Only just found this thread and good to see an FH70 firing, looks great. We have one which we are cleaning up now and I would like to fire it in June if possible at the Overlord show. Any chance of some details of the charge you used ? I have access to the chap who does the piro's for the show. Best Regards Ian201
  7. Hi, I had same sort of issues with my sabre, athough we had issues with starting too. Fault was hair line crack in the rotor arm, the disy cap was also in poor order. Replaced both items and problem gone. The crack in the rotor arm was not easy to see. We also went around the plug's, timming checks and coil change. Hope this helps Best Regards Ian
  8. I have been on the forum for some time and I have to say some great threads on here. I am an active member of the Solent Overlord team, I am just starting the restoration of a 1943 Matador Gun Tractor chassis No 08535696, run a CVRT Sabre and a M201 jeep both of which are regulars at the Overlord show. Best Regards Ian201
  9. Hi Gordon, Sorry that was a mistake last year and you will be located in the main field this year, the committee recognised the problem last year but too late once you were all set up. Looking forward to seeing you all at the event and submitting the paperwork early would be great and gives the team chance to get the planning right. Best Regards Ian201 Chairman - Solent Overlord
  10. Hi Joe, I would be interested in a set of hoops in the future as just starting restoring Matador 08535696 (1943), I am also taking it back to its military build standard. At this time I do not have any of the rear body so knowing items are available is great news. Best Regards Ianc
  11. Hi Ed, That must have been a bit of a mission ?. We had the Scania pushing with a straight bar and my disco pulling like mad to get this Matador out of the soft ground for about 400m. All good fun. Mine is now in located in Hampshire/ sussex border, where abouts are you based. ianc
  12. Hi Ed, The rad was lifted out to access the steering box as one of the bolts had sheered. I left the rad off for the transport home as the next job is to do some work on the engine, hope to get it working in the next few weeks as would like to get it to overlord show in June in its current condition before the restoration starts. Ian
  13. Hi chaps, great to see this thread being update with lots of photo's. I have just just pulled this Matador out of a Saw Mill in the new forest (last week). The restoration to start in anger after the Overlord show. With the exception of the A frame the truck is nice and original and looks to have seen service in Malta and then may be on to the Italian campain. Markings visible under the green paint, the sand paint is the original. It is Chassis No 08535696, still trying to nail the build date (think 1943) so if any one can help it would be appreciated. The truck's civ'y reg is I think 901 KPC.The photo's are not in the correct order. The bottom one was taken around 1980 and the rest the January this year. The restoration back to its military spec will be uploaded to the solentoverlord.co.uk web site with monthly updates with any luck. Ian
