  1. Do They?, some of the projects that has sold on milweb and eBay?

I love finding an old barn find ww2 vehichle etc, just seems to have alot more character to it?

    What's your opinion

    Bill.

I kind of think projects do Bill. If you had a good supply of them I think there is a good business to be had. If you look at a Jimmy for example it's going to cost you £2000 just to put NDT's on it. That's just over 25% of the value of GMC's so not much room there.

  2. Where has my Wanted Advertisement gone??

I had an advertisement headed "Wanted URGENTLY - 19" fan like this one.."

There were many, many viewers with out success and so I bumped it up as well. Now it had completely disappeared.

I have not advised that the item is no longer wanted but one of the moderators must have removed it. WHY??

I sent a PM to Jack but have received no reply.

Please advise what is going on and where it has gone to. There is no sign of it in any Closed Threads section.

    Thanks Rick.

Sorry Rick - I am here now!

    Thanks for sorting Richard :)

  3. Does it count if you've had one for 35+ years ?

No, but what it does mean Dave is that you are in front of the curve - you have been cutting edge for 35 years and didn't even know it!!!

  4. Dear Jack,

Obituaries get posted anyway in such places as MV chatter, so they could have gone in Obituaries.

Two people well known to me and the MV scene have died recently; Tony Oliver, of History on Wheels Museum and Alec Bilney of Ford GPA fame, thats why I raised this point. However I see you point about sensativity so thats the end of it and no offence taken.

    Hi Larry,

I hear you and I am as sorry to hear about your loss, like all of us are. We can continue to post them in MV Chatter. If we had a board, I am sure we would upset folks if we removed their posts, if lets say, it was with regards to current conflicts.

    Warm reagrds,

    Jack.

  5. That's the 2nd Sherman recovery that truck has done (Adrians' at A&E and now Jims), well done! Has the clutch air cylinder been fitted to the gear box yet?

Vince (former occasional co-driver of your Ward LaFrance under TootallMikes custodianship)

Shermans just attract them Vince - it's like you Ward La France guys go and sabotage them at night :coffee:

  6. Personally I am not comfortable with the idea. I understand it but I think it is a private matter. I think it is kind of fellow members to let us all know if we have lost someone, it is then up to us how we handle that on an individual basis.

We need to keep focused on what HMVF is - a historic military vehicle forum. As I said above, I have no issues at all with folks postings up that we have lost someone but think we would lose a bit of dignity if we had a permanent board for it.

  7. Ha thanks Lee!

That was a great moment for us both. And that really was a heart felt hug and as that picture shows - I was kind of holding on to him for dear life.

That boy has been through a lot cr*p over the last 2-3 years and 99% of my focus over the last 2-3 years was keeping him together and to get him into 6th Form as many parents out there will know - there is nothing out there for the kiddies at the moment.

So getting him into 6th Form meant a bit of a safe habour for 2 years. Jess came to me when he was 13 and I had no idea at all how to deal with a 13 year old and I would say he got into more trouble at school then Lee and Snapper put together. I think I was at his school more times than I was in Costa Coffee sorting out the mess. The lad really did smash it and stepped up.

So yeah, it was a massive day for all of us at Beckett Towers and means perhaps now I can start to focus on the rest of my life.

    Well done Jess!
