It's the only way to travel Jack! So have you had your first lesson?
No not yet Adrian, went up yesterday to see what needed to be done Have to book a two hour flight to see if I am still wanting to go for it then join the flying club and then get stuck in. Hope to start this month!!!

I've been meaning to drop in to Compton for a while, now I'll have to....... :-D
I always remember when you came up to me at Headcorn to say hello and I asked what the traffic was like getting here and you said ' not a problem, I just flew straight in' I didn't realise until about 6 hours later you literally did fly in!
Thought that was pretty cool:-D
-
EVEN I knew what this was out of when I saw it!
>OK made that bit up^.

A boat
No Sir!

My sympathies are with the potential instructor:sweat:
He was quite impressed when I said - A barrel roll is an aerial maneuver in which an aeroplane makes a complete rotation on its longitudinal axis while following a helical path, approximately maintaining its original direction :coffee:

Air related?
No beer for you either Rick or for Roof Over Britain

A Vehicle

Yep, no option but to man up and hold on tight !
They well known noise of when you go over a bump/pot hole and the benches rattle you to death

Hi Jack well done mate & good luck getting your licence, would of loved to be up there today but realy behind getting the vehicles ready for W&P.
Thanks Ian and for the advice too. And the next time you are flying down this way - drop in to Compton and I will buy you a coffee....can't believe I just offered to buy a coffee

ive been up a few times and thought of doing this . go for it jack and i will be your co pilot flying over the beaches of normandy holding the biscuit tin for you while your at the controls ! :readbook:
It is something I have wanted to do since I can remember and now life has settled down for me after three horrid years, I thought it was time I did something for myself.
With regards to the beaches of Normandy, what inspired me even further was Jess and I and Jim Clark and friends done exactly that some years ago. 800' in a C-47 was pretty amazing and I have always wanted to fly the same flight paths our chaps flew in war. Apparently there are rules that you can't just fly anywhere.....spoil sports!

I was going to say remember to take off against the wind Jack...but there's no need as you never take the easy option..:-D
Thanks Bernard! And you are right - I tend to have a habit of taken the path of the most resistance

Jack. I really don't think this is a good idea. At least when the GMC ran out of fuel it would coast to a stop. Aeroplanes really don't work like that.
Tim
Well I have thought of that Tim but it never happens when I am on xBox :coffee:

She doesn't hang about! Word is already out in our Facebook group. I'm happy to get a group together - joint SOE and MVT members, to spend a few days doing the job properly so that the tank is good for both the 70th and the 75th anniversaries.
PM Rosie or myself if this is something you would like to get involved in - we will have a messy few days with compressors, needle guns, paint and stencils
Like the sound of that!
Sometimes I just feel that the hobby is great at talking but not so good at the walking.

Just packed and will be there tomorrow
Have to go to Wiltshire first to pick up a horse trailer
-
Just a quick update. The show ground plans are all ready to go, things are all coming together brilliantly. We have over over 300 vehicles booked in already. There is no room in the inn for any more traders I'm afraid (sorry Jack )
This time next week everything will be in place and we will be raring to go!!!!!!!!!!
See you there
What you don't know Rose is that I am actually pitching next to you - so I don't want any noisy neighbours or I will be complaining :coffee:
Looking forward to seeing you on Friday!
-
Great work Steve!!!
-
in our clubhouse bar they have landed the lanc on jacks new bowling green !
Yeah have already had words with them about that. That's twice this year!
But what a serious piece of flying. I know they say the best piece of flying was when Staff Sergeant Wallwork landed his glider at Pegasus but the Dam Busters must be close?!
-
OK tanker chaps COULD that be made to look WWII? Would the be a big deal or am I WAY OFF.....
Wouldn't be the first time :cool2:
-
I like that but to sure on the 'Jacks buying' bit!!!
That's not a bowling green - that's the new pitch and put course I had built - it's not open yet so keep off the grass
-
I make a mean cup of tea Jack!
Deal!
-
I feel an HMVF meet at Overlord 2013! Both me and the cubed will be busy during the day but in the evening, well you know where we will be!!!
That sounds good - but I don't drink when on business
