After spending $7000 on a new motor, the gear box really shat itself. It was sold to a chap in Western Australia. The money is being used on the SKOT and MTLBu and a BRDM-2 that is currently being restored, ready in two weeks!

Iam wantingf pics of the timing on the bell housing of the Fox. I believe they used to be screwed to the top of the housing. We need to know this to get all the timing right
Also where can I get the three pin plug and lead that connects the rear lights from Left to right.

After 5 months of work we have finally put Basils engine back together :nut: He has had a complete head rebuild, new cylinders and deck put in on the block and several other replacements including electronic ignition. Have to put the cooling system back on and I'm hoping to be able to start him again next Saturday. Next pics will be of him on the road

Does anyone here understand German? I bought some gear on ebay and I think the chap does not speak our lingo. Can anyone translate it for me? :nut:
Leider liefere ich nicht nach Australien, und 1,50 ? würden für den Versand auch nicht ausreichen.
Wie viel würde es kosten, um nach Australien Post?
Thanks

I think Mr Eaglehurst may have alot of pics and knowledge on this subject! :cool2:

Great idea! I see heaps and heaps of stuff on WW2, but very little on post war gear. With the exception of the superb Osprey books, there is really not much around. Hence my earlier question on the jungle greens.

Does anyone have pics of the shirt...I have seen something on WPG but they say it is WW2. I have a set of the waist belt pants dating from the 1960's. Were the putees worn as well? In regards to webbing would 56 pattern serve....way too expensive to import webbing from the UK to here LOL. The postage is a real gob stopper! :wow:

The pic I have here, from "Osprey's, Elite Series...Security Forces in Northern Ireland, 1969-92", page 10. Shows a soldier of the DERR with a M16 A. It shows the stock of the weapon secured by a lanyard. I take it this was connected to the jacket...just in case!
It says that the M16 was was issued to units on rural operations in NI.
LOL we call slings a sling here too

I know that DP pattern gear is very hard to get hold of in large sizes. The set I have are so bright that it is frightning :nut:

When was the last time that the greens were worn and what did they look like? Boots etc.
Were they like the Aussie ones used in Vietnam?

Can anyone tell me when they were first being used by the British Army? Was there any difference to the ones used by the British Army as opposed to the American ones? Also where can I get the lanyard for one and how was it attached?

You have my sympathy too mate! I have just got the the head fixed after warping it on my J60 and I know how frustrating it is :nut: Took us three heads to find one good one and then we had to put Bedford valve guides in it!:wow:

could you explain it a little to me please. Is the white belt worn all the time etc?

Iam after information on the Flecktarn gear, in particular what goes with it ie, belts and berets, badges etc. In particular armoured and MP dog handlers.
