I would have to get an import permit from the Aussie MOD, they are usually pretty good about these kind of things. As long as the local cops are fine with it, no problems. I would be more than happy with plans to make the sets myself, does anyone have something like that?
Thanks

Sorry to be a pain, but does anyone know how the cans were badged for the 9/12th lancers? Mine has seen action, I just re-read the data card and History report and found that this Saracen served with 15/19 Hussars (NI) , 13/18 Royal Hussars 1971-72 and a few transport Sqns after that to 74, providing drivers for the Infantry regiments deployed at Long Kesh. Can anyone help me please? Got some pics of her that Iam posting.
This is whay Iam chasing those smoke dischargers

Are there any good books out there on modern Russian camo's? I have a book here but it only goes up to 1996. Also anywhere I can go to find out about Russian uniform badging?
Thanks

Really? Iam sorry didn't know. Can you still get the base that they sit in? Can get a set in Australia but they are $850! Sorry just thought I would ask, does that mean people are going to be making replicas? If so how would one go about making your own? The world is really getting wierd

Pic of my UAz 469B
Have tried a couple of times to tell you all how bad these things were when they turned up from Poland!
All the vehicles were lemons, the BRDM was completly knackered! The UAz managed to get stuck in third gear, and the bikes carbie is stuffed. Not bad for three fuly restored vehicles, from a reputable company. Reckon that it will end up in court like the current one over theft and fraud.

What are the MUST HAVES on a Saracen. What is the kit list for the pucka sad can? :cool2:
Cheers

Wanted a set of smoke dischargers for a 1956 Saracen, the ones on the front of the vehicle. Also looking for other Saracen odds and sodds, like the spotlight, D 10 cable reel etc.
Thanks

Pulled a heap of brass fragments out of the oil pump ( you can see it center of the picture), things turned freely after that. Dosn't look to be any damage done there.
Exploring the high/low transfer box this week. Massive crack in the control box for 4x4 and 8x8 drive located on the transfer box. My engineer mate is going to make a new one for it.
Got on my hands and knees today and completly degreased the engine and gear box compartment. So far this is what the list looks like
1:New Wilson gear box
2:New clutch and recondition the clutch housings
3:Repairs to the transfer box and components
4:Blow out all lines
5:Repair and replace the air components on the gear box.
And some other things we have found
1:Replace steering seals on the front axels
2:Complete take down of the fuel lines and filters, clean, replace etc.
3:Several hand cables need replacing, snapped or frayed
4:Tune up and replace the oils and filters
Hoping to get these done within the next two months. The flat rack has turned up in Gydnia for the BRDM-2, Jarek will be loading the BRDM-2, UAz 469, MW-650, SKOT engine and gearbox on the 2nd of Febuary

Clutch came out today. Totally buggered.......didn't expect anything less!
Taken in to get refurbished
-
Gear box is now out of the SKOT! At least there is a decent amount of room to work in.....new gear box will be here in March. That gives me a little while to check out everything else around it! :nut:

:-D:-D:-D:-D,I think I will leave that to the Polish prison services........

Iam more than happy for folks to make statements, and assist with giving him the silver bullet! :cool2:
Aussie Dingo's can be rather nasty when they get their back up
-
Jarek has found me a new gear box for the SKOT. :wow: That will be here mid march, along with the BRDM,UAz and MW 650. Have found a chap here that can work on the SKOT and other Eastern block equipment...wonders never cease!
Warewolf ( you know who I mean :cheesy:), is now being sued by me, through the Polish courts. Will let you know how things are going...

Anybody got an address for him? I bought two manuals for the SKOT from Poland and it cost $152 AUST, that includes the postage. Great manuals but the binding all fell to pieces.
Has he got one on the MTLBu?

The SKOTs gear box is stuffed! Was supposed to have a new one put in whilst it was in Poland. Another lie from that cheating mongrel. Anyway I have to pull the box out.
I have two options I can see, repair the box, have to send to Melbourne and Iam unsure that I can get parts for it.
Two, can I put an automatic box in it?
What do you fellas think???
-
I had to pull my OT 64 SKOT off the low loader using my 4x4 and a chain
Hope my BRDM has a big light like yours does!

Thanks gents
I will give it a look, d/l'd the german and polish languages for windows but they doont seem to interpret the writing well. I see one for 125,000 netto and 85,000 netto. LOL I thought the polish currency was the zloty or something. Nice looking vehicles though
NETTO means all up price with their version of VAT LOL :nut: Jarek would be prepared to haggle

Try MOTO ARMIA in Poland, ask to speak to Jarek. Both Paul and I can vouch for him!

Nice one Robin! Would love one myself.....

Need more SKOT info LOL
-
Well they are finally here, alot of folks are amazed at their size! We have had the usuall teething problems, withthe MTLBu it was batteries and finding the right switches to start it with LOL.
Alas the SKOT is more serious, sometimes he goes into reverse when we want and sometimes he dosn't, same with the forward gears. I think that the bands in the wilson box are not adjusted properly either, as when we are in forward gear the vehicle does want to go but can't, like the hand suddenly comes on then goes off again.
I am having flash backs to the fox! Anyone have the measurements on the axis in the SKOT box?
Cheers

Thats great, I will put him in BAOR colours then
So where can I find pics of them in BAOR service? Did they have the black/green camo scheme? Any flashing lights etc.
If Iam still looking at having him serving with the 9/12th what role would they have been doing? How long were they operational in West Germany? Mine still has the bren gun ring, would the bren be the 7.62 version?
Thanks
