I always camp in the americas field and never have any trouble getting a spot, 9by9, 12 by 12 and 5 other tents. I'm going on the 14th this year.
I hope to arrive on the 14th but will not have any trouble finding space as Lee will be there at from at least the 06th.

Thanks for that Clive I will know more about the trailer once i have collected it next weekend but the information i was given was Radio Communications Unit, 1952. But this might not be correct so will have to wait till i can see whats on the data plate.

OPTIMAS GROUP
Latin (good, honest, noble and right; one of the best)
The Optimas Group was established in 2005 to unite the interests of the Roadsure Group into a national corporate structure to better facilitate the companies ambitious growth aspirations.
Continuing to promote its core business services in non standard motor insurance Optimas Group is already developing its profile to include high net worth and specialist financial products and services.
Established originally in 1999 as Roadsure Limited the company grew quickly through a number of key acquisitions to be the UK's leading provider of insurance products to specialist niche markets such as Motorcycle and Military vehicles.

I have been insuring with Road Sure or there predessors
for 20 yrs or more now and to be quite honest the last couple
of years the service has been not up to scratch to say the
least and I am looking to take my cover elsewhere if anyone
knows of some one who does multiple vehicle cover let me know
for it seems loyalty means nowt nowadays
Commander
It might have something to do with them being taken over my another company who's name escapes me at the moment.

still waiting for them to publish the results of the auction before this one
Richard if the last auction was October then the results are on the site now.
http://www.witham-sv.com/tenderresults.php
That - at first glance - seems a bit unethical if no reserve price is stated in the auction listing????
Cant be 100% that is what they do but next time someone is up there they can always ask.

We bid on some Harley MT350 motorbikes once and never got anything and the bids were fair. I think if the bid isn't high enough they hold it back and re-submit it next time. :dunno:

I know someone that has one of these trailers and his is a Linton and it has no wheel arches and is wider at 8ft, the so called Brockhouse is slightly smaller inside according to him.

Sheeple is a term of disparagement, a portmanteau created by combining the words "sheep" and "people"; a reference to herd mentality. It is often used to denote persons who acquiesce (bow down) to authority, and thus undermine their own human individuality. The implication of sheeple is that people believe whatever they are told, without processing it to be sure that it is an accurate representation of the real world around them. The term is generally used in a political or religious sense. The Stoner Rock band 18 Speed Tranny has a song entitled "Sheeple" that is about the herd mentality.

Theres a chap not too far away from me who has a couple of UAZ ambulances for sale and a GAZ for a bit more cash.
If its not to far away its always worth a look you never know you just might like it.
-
Thanks for that Clive, now my next question is why does everyone refer to this type of trailer as 2 ton Brockhouse if they never made anything over 1 ton ?
-
So I rake it a UAZ for £200 will be £200 quids worth of rust!
My UAZ was mostly rusty around the top where the water ran off the roof and into the water channels and the standard wheel arch rust but thats like any old vehicle. What UAZ are you thinking about.

I have a stone for Omaha beach but cant find a date on it so cant tell if its a WW2 or Post war stone.
-
By "Brockhouse" do you mean trailers in the FV2500 series?
I think so Clive, its the 2 ton type Brockhouse normally about 16ft x 8ft in size as in the above pic. The above info is the only thing i could find on the trailers.
-
Just looking at an MV book and the only one i can find is a FV2504© Photographic Film Processing unit.

Any one got any info on the Brockhouse trailers? Had a surf around the net and found nowt. :?
Thats our long term plan for ours. Kit it out to make a comfy place to sleep and lurk at shows.
This is where we hope Clive will come back with loads off information for us as I did a search and never found that much on them.

Hi Rick,
I had a UAZ 452 soviet ambulance and it was a good off roader with Hi/Lo 4 x 4 the suspension was a bit spongy but i got used to it but the biggest problem was the rust.

2054 enjoy your winnings :-D
Thats not to bad I will be 87 should just about be able to enjoy the money.
-
How much are they out of interest please
There has been some advertised on milweb recently and they have been fitted out with the usual cooker, fridge, beds, sink etc and they ranged from £1200 to £1650 but i did see one for £5000 but that looked like it had everything you would ever need including hot water, hot air heating plus solar panels the list went on.
Not sure what price you could get one from withams but i think they give a guide price of £800 - £1000 but thats only a guide.
Fancy one Mark.

Just taking a guess here but did you speak to a female

Its so strange I park my lorry on the drive and in the road sometimes and get no complaints yet a couple of years ago my next door neighbour parked his Ford Escort across the road and the neighbour living there had aright go at him telling him it was their space and he wasn't to park there. Now me being me decided to park my Uaz Ambulance right outside there house and left it there for a good 3 months and in that time they never once said anything to me. Maybe they were worried i would swap it for the lorry :-D.
