Every piece of equipmemt and every vehicle the army owned was designed to do one thing, Kill people. Even the ambulance vehicles are used to get peopleto a hospitle so they can be treated in order to get back out there and carry on killing. Even my humble Scammell recovery tractor was made to help keep the general killing machine mobile. Different things offend differet people. I personally find grown men running round a field pretending to shoot each other highly offensive but would never want to stop anybody or insult them, i just don't watch it. Wearing a uniform of any kind should not be allowed unless you have earned the right to in the forces. Just put them on dummies so i can look at them...... just my two pennies now go and enjoy yourselves with whatever floats your boat....
Strangely enough, I see your point. We all love these vehicles but we do forget that warfare ,what our beloved toys were designed and built for involves the death of the opponents or enemies...And of course results in deaths on both sides. When the Falklands war started me and my friends flocked to the army recruitment office to join up and banish the foe in a gung-ho manner. Today a wiser, 30 year older would run a mile....

If we had won that 101 million on the lottery we could have one lol....

Yes, Degsy. Late war Tigers had all metal roadwheels.

The engine is a 15 litre V8 Yamz 238-D powerplant producing between 240 and 330 bhp. It should be adequate because the replica probably weighs little more than 20 tons.

I will be travelling to this. Probably in Bernadette but I may own an AEC by then.....

It wouldn't surprise me for a minute if Adolph Hitler didn't die in the bunker at all. There were so many lies and secrets, many of which still have not been divulged, that is is very possible......

I love the Typhoon. The BEST ground attack fighter of WW2. I would love to see one in flight.

I think it is an outrageous idea. Why don't they let us have them for free as long as we pay for the shipping. This is fair. We paid for them in the first place. lol...

It was actually Saddleworth 2010 or more accurately the convoy halt at the Carriage House Inn at Marsden, Huddersfield.

If you want it I won't put any more bids on it!!!!

I don't think that it would have been a wholly successful venture for our cousins across the pond, our Canadian brothers would have weilded a nasty bite and the Senior service would have sent the majority of the US navy to Davy Jones' locker.... Thank the lord that it never happened. I did feel slightly hurt that this nation ,which for the last century have been good friends and have much in common with us could even contemplate such an action .

This is what I have recently discussed with my local MP, Signed.

Just watching a shocking programme about the USA planning to invade Canada.... Our mates???

I'd go for the earth fault - I don't see how the ECU could affect the lights!
Andy
Modern cars have a 'BSI' ecu which is pretty much like the brain in our human heads. It controls almost every function of the electrical components on the vehicle eg, windows, door locking, interior lights, exterior lights etc... It could be damp....

Sorry, it was a 'one liner' on our local MVT site, then I saw the big posters on the side of the road between Barnsley and Doncaster ! It appears to be a large gathering and booking forms were on the 'Vintage vehicle site'. Someone asked me if I was going last sunday at Jeep and Cheerful, didn't know the guy but didn't get chance to chat as was on car park duty and he left before I could nab him, so thought I would ask on here, with a chance of meeting up etc
Damn, I forgot all about Jeep and Cheerful !!!!!!!!

They have all dissapeared without trace indeed and only pre 1960 examples have survived....:cool2:

Totally agree. I think the PT76 is a great little machine and it is a shame that they are sat around in such an unloved manner. They would get more tlc up in Yorkshire !!!

Thanks Willys, mate. I am starting it in the new year when I have finished my Zils and Bernadette has some more beauty treatment performed upon her. Goodness knows how long it will take though. If I can get the pictures to post it may be interesting......:-)

In fairness, guys I could buy a WC series tomorrow if I so wished (Do love all WC series and powerwagons incidentally). But I cannot buy an 8x8 ww2 German armoured car. I have always wanted an SD KFZ 231 8rad and will never be able to afford to buy a real one but Wilhelm 222 has inspired me to make one !!!
-
It is a shame that they don't make an SD KFZ 231 because then I could scale it up and make a lifesize replica !!!:-)
-
Where is it mate ?
-
If it was a 'Gustav' it must be a Db605.
-
I'm asking nicely:cool2:
Me too !!!

If you have a small mig welder you can weld a nut or bolt to the remaining stump and unscrew the remaining stud out. At my garage we use this process half a dozen times every working day !!!
Spares anyone?
