Hi Stuart, are cold war vehicles welcome?
-
The convoy was great fun and I had a fab day altogether. I probably don't understand the politics of the situation but the organisers were brilliant and I have never felt a welcome as warm as the one offered here anywhere before.
If anyone wants a ride on Bernadette in the convoy just let me know because I don't want to be Billy no-mates this year!!!:embarrassed:

Anybody going????

Hi all.
Who is going to Saddleworth this August (12th 13th & 14th). Last year's event was fantastic in spite of all the knockers who attempted to sabotage it!!!
I had a great time and the organisers wer incredibly friendly and helpful. They deserve our support.

The Pan European is a fantastic motorcycle. I never rated them (through ignorance) until I had to borrow one from a friend to do a trip when my ZX10 R let me down at the last minute. It was a revelation and I would recommend one to anyone!!!!:-)

I thought it was my computer that had gone beserk!!!!

They are just up the road from my garage....

What size / weight etc.
It weighs 5 tons and is about 20ft long. A chassis cab only.

I am looking to transport a 6x6 truck from the midlands up to Leeds in the next month. Does anyone have capacity as a backload etc?

The King of ww2 tanks, no less...

Yes please.
Quite like chipmunks, used to go flying in them back ing my younger days when in the ATC.
Mike
Me too... Brings back happy memories... Felt like a Spitfire pilot when I was up in one :-).

Did anyone else have one of those "Sekiden" pistols that fired bronze-coloured plastic balls via a strong spring? Sort of a fore-runner to today's airsoft weapons as they had a completely unrealistic magazine size, forty or fifty rounds. And of course we just wandered round the street playing with them and no-one batted an eyelid ...
Andy
I fondly remember the Sekiden pellet guns. I had great fun with them!:-)

I usually have a posse of young women wanting to ride in the back of the truck... They want to dress in military clothing too....
-
Full air brakes are better. I used to hate air over systems on Ford D series and Bedfords... The full air systems on the AEC's and Leylands were practically maintainance and problem free compared to Air over Hydraulic systems...
-
Pure aural nectar.... Wish I had been there... Great pictures :-).
-
They are sexy though, the old Chieftain tank... I would love one!!!
-
You will be more than welcome to come for a ride, it would be a pleasure.. along with anyone else who wants a ride. Just don't climb out of the back till I tell you, though!!!! Finally I would like to thank profusely the organisers of the event for a super weekend. Hopefully see you all again next year.:-)
-
Excellent work, my friend.. Keep it up :-).
-
As in tomorrow? Is there an entry fee?
-
I have never seen an exhaust arrangement like this before, but it certainly makes sense with an inflammable load such as explosive ordnance...
-
Some of these restoration programs are not what they seem... And they can be extremely economical with the truth .
