Incidentally does anybody know how the chap who got run over by the anti tank gun is doing. It looked pretty bad.

That is a bugger,I would have loved to have met you in the flesh so to speak. Unfortunatley we had somewhere to go hence the early exit!!! Hopefully see you soon as there must be some more shows before the next Saddleworth :-).Next year Bernadette will look a lot smarter as my renovation program should be complete by then!!!
All the best,
Richard.

With my greatest pleasure,Mark. It was a great day and well organised. I think there was a lot of skullduggery, misinformation and people who did'nt want it to go ahead and as a result not quite as well attended as last year but a fantastic event nonetheless :-).

This is one of my favourite scenes from 'The Battle Of Britain'....:-)

I agree it is a much harder way to conduct warfare.... The SS and the Americans in Vietnam succumbed to the concept of harsh treatment of the civilian population. It is easy to condemn their actions but if you were not there you would not understand. Insurgency is an awful thing to combat... You do not possess the advantage of knowing who your enemy is, until he tries to kill you or your comrades....

i'll be going on sunday
eddy
Me too ....:-)

Fraid not - was going to but will be going camping in Northern France instead, mostly pas de calais area, though maybe a bit further so hoping to visit some of the sites - Battery Todt, la Coupole etc..
Look forward to reading the report if you go..
Fantastic... I am planning an expedition to the same places early next year....:-)
I will endeavour to take lots of pictures ....

Andy,
I am sure there's a box body you can fit in to that bed, rather than try and build a camper under the canvas.
Chris
This would be a much more logical approach to the project.:-)

A similar scenario to the bombing of Dresden perhaps...

Me too !!! I desperately wanted to go but last week was the trans Pennine and next weekend is Saddleworth and I wanted to avoid ww3 in my house,Steve...

I had no idea that the Americans were running a diversionary Building Construction research project! All this time I've been harbouring the mis-guided belief that this darstadly act was all about shocking the Japanese into an early surrender, in order to avoid prolonged suffering on all sides.
But then there's a lot I get wrong .
You and me both!!!!

Surely they will not shut the Land Warfare hall. This is as important as the aircraft there and is a national asset....
-
Well it is next weekend. Is anyone else going???
-
Any pictures yet???:-)

I had no idea that the Luftwaffe had anything to do with the the Holocaust... I had always considered them to be very honourable.

A truly horrible act, but unfortunately somewhat necessary. It is impossible to calculate the number of casualties (on both sides) if an invasion of mainland Japan had been undertaken.

Prototype for a Leighter Einheitswaffentrager GW 638/26 Gerat 587
Three different types with different track work
1) the one in your photo was by Krupp/Steyr and used the Steyr RSO as a design starting point.
2) A similar Rheinmetall Borsig prototype using Pz38t Hetzer trackwork
3) One by Krupp/Steyr which was a almagimation of both types with track and drive sprocket on the Steyr prototype and road wheels similar to a Hetzer
All were built with a 8.8cm pak43 cannon.
There are several photos of showing the Rheinmetal vehicle after capture, and the Krupp-steyr vehicle was used and abandoned in the Battle of Berlin.
Steve
RSO as Raupenschlepper Ost, the little tracked cargo truck??

A good day was had by all, Bernadette never missed a beat and only my Father and I's misinterpretation of the directions let us down. We must have travelled an extra ten miles by unscheduled detours!!!:-) The GMC was there again and there was a lovely Bedford MW an a gorgeous Goddess...

Just had another thought I they finally going to make tyre sizes completely metric, just to make life more fun,
Never quite understand why width is in millimetres and the diameter is in inches.
Mike
I hope they leave the sizings alone... I understand the current system!!!
-
This load of bo**ocks will push the price of tyres through the roof... Will the legislation apply to pre'60 motors?
-
Radios - :rofl::rofl::rofl:
Tyre noise regulations? What a complete and utter load of b*ll*cks. Bring it on, let's burn all the rubber and guzzle all the fuel and go out in one glorious party (classic MVs only mind you) :nut:
Here here!!!
