  1. Hi any one tell me the best way to apply stencils to my jeep? Ive tried with card ones & sticky ones - aerosol paint & brushed on paint & always they seems to blur. The paint seems to seep around the stencil is there a knack to it?
  2. I understand that Military mayhem in august has been cancelled is that right? any one know if theres another show in that neck of the woods (kent /south east england) on the same weekend 19th 20th 21st August? (ive already booked the time off work)
  3. Have to agree looks superb can i ask what paint you used for the body? shade & finish? many thanks
  4. Any one know if the paint codes they use eg 23070 equate to a UK code to get same colour made up here in the uk?
  5. Many thanks for the replies its a show vehicle & i dry store it over the winter so once the rust is sorted it shiould stay that way for a while looks like i got some work to do but will be worth it i'm going to strip off the underseal, sort the rust, prime & paint
  6. In the process of trying to repaint my jeep and sort any rust, I have noticed the entire underneath - body & chassis has been undersealed some time ago. This has split/cracked in places creating a water trap and causing rust with the underseal just flaking off. At the moment the underseal seems to be doing more harm than good. Should the under body even be undersealed? Am I best removing the underseal, sorting any rust, prime , paint and then treat with waxoyl or Is it best to remove the old then re underseal ? Any advice greatly appreciated
  7. Thanks for all the replies - looks to be the way forward for me!
  8. semi satin? didnt know there was such a thing but sounds good which company did you get yours from?
  9. Lots of answers (more than i thought id get) :-D many thanks to all I think ill probably go with a satin finish as i try to use it alot on the summer months & i just dont think the matt is going to stand up to it
  10. as the forum suggests i know this sounds stupid but Am looking at re spraying my jeep (m38a1) & have got a tin of matt paint from a reputable supplier. I've test sprayed it (2 coats) & although the colour is good, once dry the paint seems to mark very easily when lightly scratched & i this will be no good for the jeep am i doing something wrong? or is this just how it is? would this be avoided if applied with roller? would this be avoided if i used a satin finish ? any tips greatly appreciated

  15. Thanks for the all the posts it looks like the bolts are infact M8 however they must have been bad replacements as have been forced into the holes & ruined the threads hence why they were so hard to remove - grrrr! plan is to get some imperial ones & if they prove that the thread in the gole is damaged too then will have to re tap them. again thanks for all the replies & suppliers details
