no interestingly Matthew HARDING , the planning officer seems to be saying it wont go to committee...very interesting...

Its fascinating what a dodgy hand shake and a few connections in the council will do...next door they want a caravan park, cars coming and going with Caravans all day long, only one objection...I am not going to object myself because I believe in live and let live, even though the guy next door has objected to my museum. He even had the cheek to ask for my support then once he had the support in writing, he say he could not support me...what a character he is, make sure you count your fingers before leaving... Anyway it finalised at 146 supporters and 14 objectors...bit disappointing given how large our community is, but hey ho...that's life. thank you for those who did offer support and my apologies that the international members could not support it, international supporters were excluded..

Good news everyone we are now at 114 positive supporters and just 11 objectors, the majority of the objectors are related to traffic because they always use that as a comment even though the whole purpose of the planning application is to make entrance easier, and will reduce the risk of congestion, a few object to the vehicles being ugly, some object to the site being a mess but that's because I have no building to put things away and get them all protected...but objecting to things that are nothing to do with the project seems a bit off the wall to me and a bit personal...but people try to come up with anything negative they can true or not...its the wrong location its the wrong year its the wrong everything, but to me its the only right location, I tried to get some space at Borden before the army left but got told in no uncertain terms that they wanted it to go to big companies and not small museums or anything of the sort..... the world is totally screwed up by people who have no real imagination...their own agendas and no time for little people like me trying to do something genuinely for the country...something I am passionate about and so too are many others...

well we have had some good developments, the MIg21 arrival has woken up a lot of the Aircraft enthusiasts who seem a good bunch and have been offering their support left right and centre...we may make the 100 plus supporters yet...given that every post makes over 500 people its so annoying that international supporters cannot make comments...

wow two more supporters...only 24 to go, I am hopeful a few more locals who have pledged support will do so...but can you believe they actually feel intimidated to support it for fer of the wrath of locals...is this really how our country has become...that's 76 supporters and 11 objectors...

we are at 74 supporters just another 26 supporters needed and we are at 100....all the objectors are clearly coming up with things that are mostly covered by the application...its going as well as can be expected so far...thanks all the supporters, if you have not offred any support and you feel you can it is very very helpful, if you have issues with it, offer them also, I want to hear what people think...its important this is not my museum it is for the people of this country...

lodge is my house they are idiots it has been extended four times in the last 50 years, it started out as a single room brick building, a totally stupid and unrealistic discussion about a building of no intrinsic value whatsoever and the hebden estate was of nil significance to the world...the guy is known for his protestations...

never more than 4 or 5 cars waiting...no more than 30-45 seconds...

yes there was minimal disruption, non towards Beech and we had one way traffic for about 30 minutes...

Great guys, this is getting there I got my numbers wrong 32 more needed for 100 support...so we need a few more of you to chip in if you can...what has been said so far is brilliant.. ...and has given me many many ideas....

thanks Guys, we are just 28 short of our target 100...if anyone else can help...your comments are vital, I know your not local but we have locals supporting too, but the strength of support is overwhelming the anti-everythings out there...

Thanks guys the numbers are really mounting, I know that the Planning officer will lend more weight to the 6 or 7 locals who have voiced objections but there are many more locals supporting the museum... I have a Public Consultation day, we will see if anyone turns up but I am hopeful that we will get support. I am planning on having the 433, a 439 all kitted out, a Landy ex gulf end of cold war, and a few re-enacters have volunteered to assist... I really hope the objectors turn up because their objections are totally without value and are just NIMBY type objections, if we listened to them the world would stop right now, however if they are genuine I want to put their minds at rest...this is never going to be a teaming 200 cars an hour type attraction trying to get into the museum...weekends we may see 100 cars I hope all day and cars will arrive and go during the day my thoughts are that people will visit for about 3 hours tops at the moment... Access will be made easy by the planning application changes so i cannot see how anyone can object to the traffic issue, and if we ever did get to the point where traffic is an issue, a roundabout at the bottom of the road would help everyone especially the locals to get out onto the busy A339...a benefit to all those in Beech and Medstead... If anyone else is about and wants to pop up and have a look you will be most welcome... and keep the support coming guys you have said some brilliant stuff so far...

thank you Andy...I am a bit flabbergasted that we have over 3000 hits on the facebook page and only 50 people offering support...mind you its apparently the same for housing estates too...the biggest one here for many a year has caused massive consternation, but only 18 people objected, the DVLA MOT for heavy trucks, they only received 32 emails/letters regarding ex military and older HGV collectors...people just don't seem keen to put their name to anything these days...it looks like I am extremely lucky to have so many already...so thanks to everyone who has made a comment it is really fantastic that you have and very rare for most applications......

we have two caravans for overnighters now...still need installing and a bit of tidying but will be ready as soon as someone wants them...

not yet but we will, so far we have i think 4 ot 5 actual objections and 41 supporters...but we need loads more, we have a public consultation on the 26th January, where I am hopeful we will have support from the Signals and maybe other groups. Getting the locals now complaining about traffic, always the same thing, traffic because they think traffic is the biggest issue...it isnt and interesting how one says but I don't mind it being somewhere else in Alton...no one lives anywhere near me the closest house being half a mile away...but still people complain... and now at 35 in support 2 in support but hit the object button instead of the support button and 3 true objections...

The MVT community is a very small one I know but if we can rally round it would help me achieve a life long ambition and provide the UK with its first truly dedicated COLD War Museum.... just now need to find a V-Bomber a TU95 Bear a Phantom, a Leopard, a Scud A, a Honest John missile, and more besides.. I am after some old furniture from the 40's 50's 60's 70's 80's old kitchen equipment old clothes etc etc all relating to life druing the cold war...
