  1. maybe the bronze in the oil bloked the pick up pipe.an old chap told me that he drove one in the army they would check the oils but it blew the diff. the bronze had bloked the filler neck so the oil level looked ok but the diff was dry. or the back lash on the pinion cort the oil pump gear

  4. yes it is a good engine and with the bosch pump on it it is good on fuel.
  5. my cousin has the numbers for all 3 pinion bearings he had to get new ones cos he dident check the oil and it was low. :nono: will try and get numbers:-D but i do know the price:sweat: are you ready sit down and have a strong drink ready:shocked: £1000 he only check his after i said my front bearing had a bit of movement he will check his oils more often know i bet.
  6. the oil pump was ok. doesent the oil pump just pump oil around the oil cooler:confused:

  9. yes. just take all the back off then prop and flange and seal. i have a old flange with a bar welded on put that on jack anti clockwise and out see pops:cool2:
  10. had some movement in the backaxle took pinion out and found the front bearing worn. got new bearing and put back together:yay::yay:
  11. and in the roadtrain. leyland took the 760 and turbo charged it bosch pump heads ect and made the engine ahead of its time.
