  1. Due to demand from people attending the Show we have had to increase the dates to include Saturday........How Bad
  2. You know what I like about this site. I always think the moderators are fair You can keep people informed and put pressure on others to change, when you can't do it over here. or so we thought.......However Due to the recent actions of members of the mvci a meeting was called by a well respected member of the Irish re-enacting community. All clubs present were given a chance to speak. Most told tales of woe about dealing with certain people in the mvci. A resolution has been passed and signed up to by 13 Clubs and groups blackballing the mvci until they correct their ways. Again this meeting was NOT called by our group But we are pleased to support the joint resolution's made at it. A more comprehensive account is on " livinghistory.ie "
  3. lads Just had an another interesting phone call from the other club Complaining about my recent posts My reply is, stop doing these things and i'll stop reporting them.Because you will not do anything to police your own people. Fair enough
  4. So the other shower cannot and will not leave us alone Most recent happenings We discovered that an agent of a committee member of their Club registered our Club name in the Companies office.WHY? Another committee member was ringing our club members asking them to attend St Patricks parade with his club. (we had 12 vehicles in the parade, they had 4) Then a vehicle adorned with their Banners tried to break into our Column. That bird didn't fly >>>>
  5. Some very interesting things have been going on over here...... Someone secretly recorded our club name in the Companies registration office..... Guess who?
  6. We have come up with the name "salute" For the show, what do you think?
  7. Yes, our first Show. We have hired the National Exhibition Centre, just north of Dublin. 15 acres and facilities. We all intend to make this the biggest Show over here, we'll be arranging ferry fares etc. So far we have about 50 vehicles and as many reenactors, but need more. sean
  8. Gentlemen, I would like to announce a civilised bunch will be docking on the 8th to travel down to the Show. Same Area as last year, Essex Men. hint. We are trying to organise a low loader from liverpool for some armour, can anyone help with a name?

  10. I have removed the name of the gentleman that was supposed to have got my turret working again He got €4200 and I still don't have a working Turret, 18 months later. First time in my life I paid up front on trust.
  11. The IMVG have acquired a new travelling Exhibit, We think is the first of its type in Ireland WH849 T4 Canberra Bomber http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y236/Balrainn/2003_0118Image0033.jpg[/img] Sean and Eileen Travelled to the UK and purchased the Cockpit Section from GJD services the Weekend before theToys for Big Boys Show. http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y236/Balrainn/2003_0118Image0029.jpg[/img] This was a major logistical exercise, only made possible by the generousity of a Club member who loaned us his Landie as the towing Vehicle. http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y236/Balrainn/ResizeofIMG_4606.jpg[/img] As you can see we had to fit Clocks etc. back into the instrument panel and then onto the Show http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y236/Balrainn/bbt2006032.jpg[/img] We put approx 1000 Children through the Cockpit in the 3 days, so the effort was well worth it. And no, we were not charging. http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y236/Balrainn/bbt2006023.jpg[/img] Why did we do this???????????? Its not about the Money, its about the look on a kids face when they sit in an Ejector seat for the first time.If we inspire one Child then it's worth it...
  12. Ok I had to do this.................... At the Toys for Big Boys Show This very nice Girl asked if she could pose on my Truck http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y236/Balrainn/bbt2006025.jpg[/img] I was worried about a clash between high heels and Paintwork, but some things must be allowed

  23. Thank you, that is the answer I hoped for. We need this to be resolved and nobody over here seems willing to oversee the process.
  24. We restored the wings by cutting away the old rusty lower sections and welding in new pieces made by cutting 1 1/2" box. that gave me the L shape. Then mick worked his magic Not bad, we also decided to remove the wing indicators. A grand over view of the reassembled nose
  25. Jack this could make for a very interesting topic. Any chance you would oversee an open and frank discussion. I believe this person Capital and the mvci member that is mentioned in my story is one and the same. And I love the way he keeps refering to our Show as the Landrover Show or The 4x4 event, refusing to admitt its a military show as well, shows a certain mind set. PS you know he laid claim to our show as I had to ask you to moderate his position this matter. The two Dave's that are running the show with us arn't making up stories about the phone calls and emails they received.OH and that text message I kept stating that a major part of his Club is boycotting our Show is made up as well?
