  1. Welcome John. Tell us about your Humber please.
  2. Yes clump of paint trapped in a crevice. Not Mrs T's bus, a bit older than that.
  3. Not as the result of fire damage. This was a prestige vehicle & got a mention in Janes & I think a photo, but that may be the photo used for the IDR.
  4. With such an outrageous range of colours it could be. But the vehicle has been painted in those colours in its entirety.
  5. I know what you mean but not that sort of thing.
  6. Ingenious Chris but this was an armoured vehicle.
  7. Plausible but nope. This vehicle is still in existence & is a runner.
  8. Interesting but wouldn't explain all the colours found.
  9. I've already let the cat out of the bag this is from a vehicle. In fact it was once featured in an International Defence Review.
  10. I've never managed to count them all. But I have identified multiple layers of: Green Blue Grey Sand White Red oxide primer What sort of vehicle could this be?
  11. Yes sort of Lee. Just a Maplin micro-viewer. The LEDs are a bit bright. Quite pretty really.
  12. Yes Martin you are quite correct. It is a clod of paint removed from a vehicle. But based on the colours what possibly could it be from?
  13. Yes many a time Richard, but that is not related to this object.
  14. Wayne its XG actually which is a miscellaneous grease. No idea about chemistry but will be back after I have consulted with an old deaf stanley
  15. Forgot to mention that LG-280 has been obsolete for some time. The specified grease is XG-279
  16. Wayne that is correct. We were talking yesterday about correctly administering oil in the Tracta housings not grease. The hubs are to be packed with grease on assembly and topped up with oil. In accordance with Special Servicing Instruction No.7 which was an amendment in 1973 to the original Servicing Schedule that stated oil only.
  17. Dan first of all apologies for double posting what Martin had already written. His replies were posted while I was still writing. Not only I am dyslexic so it takes a while to get a coherent sentence together, but I can't log into the forum on my Android pad so had to go to the phone to reply. 6A is spot on according to the EMER. I know you are looking for EMER POWER S522 as that Technical Handbook does cover the starter. But you also need EMER POWER P324/1 Technical Handbook Part 1 - Field Repairs & Part 2 Base Repairs that covers Starters No.1 Mks 1, 2 & 3. Incidentally S522 covers all common features of the B Series, but to cover the B81 you also need S522/4
  18. Double as they are linked so that incoming wire is fitted without disturbing internal wire. DP is actually OP = oil pressure switch. Suspect your circuit is incomplete as it is just to show ignition circuitry.
  19. No relay, just a junction box that houses the two paralleled ballast resistors with terminals to allow them to be shorted out on start up.
  20. Is there such a thing as a "charge warning light switch"? Seems daft that you would have a switch to turn off a warning light. I ask because in an EMER there are references in charge fault finding that refers to such a switch. I have the UHB & can see no such switch identified. Looking at the circuit diagram I can only see a feed that comes from the 6-way lighting switch, but no special switch. Am I correct in assuming the EMER was badly written & this "charge warning light switch" means that when the warning light circuit is to be switched off, it means put the 6-way light switch to a convoy position & that extinguishes warning lights? But if the supply to the charge warning light was removed in convoy mode it would also mean you couldn't start the engine with the 6-way switch in this position, as the warning light & the start button share the same supply.
