  1. Thanks Robin, both seats are removed as i recently cleaned the fuel tank out, that was a easier job that i thought it would be, will be attempting to remove the turret tomorrow, will let you know how i get on! Andrew
  2. The time has come to do some blasting and painting, looking at removing the turret, i want to leave the ring gear bearing in place, so looking at the 18 or so allen key type bolts inside the turret on the top plate above the ring gear bearing, im i right in thinking these bolts go a long way to removing the turret? Regards Andrew
  3. Was running fine, put a recon engine in it a week ago, did to miles fine, then did some hilly off roading at a gentle pace, soon as i got back on the road it started missing at higher rpm
  4. Thankyou for your replies, new filter, pump filter ok, restriction in tank? not sure, pump ticks very fast all the time, im sure my spartan never use to, not that fast anyway. New pump ordered, looking at new pump flow rates, not found one that pumps as little as 1/L/ min. It may pump quite well with an open flow but once the flow is restricted it may not be able to pump quite so well. Diana
  5. My sabre fuel pump is pumping just short of 1 litre a minute, this seems very low output for these engines, would you think the pump needs replacing? Andrew
  6. When changing up on the move, 4 to 5th gear, theres a delay of about a second before i get drive, the rest of the gears work fine, any ideas? i need a spare gearbox anyway if anyone has one for sale. Andrew
  7. Thanks, most helpful :-D UOTE=BRDM Driver;476111]Yes. See my post re fuel tank on Scorpion. I did take the seat out though. Just one nut and bolt and the seat pops up off it's spring. I tried to get the seat out of the hatch but it appears to be a very tight fit, so i just put it to one side in the turret... The lower bolts on the access panel are tricky to get at, but do-able. I ran a die over all the stud threads before undoing them to get the paint off, so avoid the studs coming out.
  8. Can the large inspecton hatch and fuel sender be removed with the turn table thing still in place? removal of the curved plate which is bolted on the turn table in front of the fuel inspection hatch may make things a little easier. i intend to clean the fuel tank inside for piece of mind if its not too difficult Andrew

  10. Im putting a A1 reconditioned engine in the sabre at the weekend, ive collected the recon engine from withams today. It states that the engine has been internally preserved, is there anything i need to do because of this? or do i just put oil in and start? Regard Andrew

  20. I thought 24v goes into the junction box, the ballast resistor brings the voltage down to 12v for the coil. Thought i was bypassing the ballast resistor as i cannot tell which terminal takes the 24v feed and not wanting to fry any componants. Regards Andrew
  21. Two batterys supply the 24v to the starter, another battery was used to supply the 12v to the junction box, also was earthed to the engine block
