  1. I wish to test run a j60 engine out of the vechicle, ive sorted the wiring to get the starter motor turning but not too sure about the wiring for getting a spark. Its the electronic ignition system. Looking in the terminal junction box i see the red wire coming from the ign terminal, i put 12v to this thinking this should do the job but nothing! Any ideas on how this should be wired? Regards Andrew
  2. Can someone tell me the oil capacity of the tn15 gearbox (j60 engine) please as this is on my next to do list! Regards Andrew
  3. Theres one for sale at southmoor farm machinery devon £9750 plus vat
  4. Seems its the tracks making a lot of noise, its a little quieter now, one of the sprockets seem to be 5mm ish out of alienment looking down the road wheels, track running slightly off centre but not a lot, will sort this out this week.
  5. Yes, put the sprockets back on then found them not to line up, this was soon rectified. The edges on the sprockets are fine. Shes all back together and ready for a road test tomorrow so fingers crossed. Thankyou for all the advice, will let everyone know how the road test goes. Andrew
  6. So far ive split the tracks from the sprockets so no drive, run the engine through all the gears, held it in 7th at 4000rpm, it runs very sweet and quiet, ive checked axle arm bearings, road wheel bearings and track adjuster idler wheels, all the good. The spockets are worn a little, not much, but im swapping both sprockets to the opposite sides so they are not worn as they have not been turned round before, not much more i can do, the tracks are within there wear limits as stated in the book. Will give a update when shes back together and road tested. Andrew
  7. Its not engine speed related, its forward speed related, i will drop the tracks off the spockets and investigate. Thanks
  8. Not 100% sure its the gearbox, fan bearings are ok, its not a growling noise, it sounds like a bearing gone and the shaft dancing about in the housing over a certain forward speed, a dare not go into 7th incase something locks up and i lose some teeth Andrew
  9. Yes. i here the cavitation growl and know this is normal, something sounds as its going to fail big style the faster i go. Would it be easier to pull the final drives apart and check there ok first, seems i can get at them from the sprocket side ok
  10. My first cvrt spartan arrived thismorning, its a j60 petrol one, once its in 3rd and above, the gearbox becomes very noisey, like theres a shaft rattling about in there, the faster i go the worse it sounds. Is this normal or not. It sounds VERY bad like something going to go bang. If this is not normal i may split the shafts between the final drives and the gearbox output shafts then run through the gears to make sure it is the gearbox and not a final drive. Apart from this problem the gearbox works fine. Any thoughts on this would be very welcome. Andrew
  11. I went to marcus glenns to buy a CET, was in excellent condition with just 50 mile on the clock, the fact is it was just too big, even tho i have loads of room for it on the farm, would have ended up breaking the edges on my road. I ended up looking at a spartan which i think i will be buying! Andrew
  12. I was told its best not to put the width in on the v55 form and it mite be ok, the last time i registered a fv432 back in 2013, i use the blue mod form for proof of identification, i do not have this for the CET FV180. I am a farmer, so may try to go down the agricultural registration route if its easier as it will be used on the farm for soil moving jobs Regards Andrew
  13. Hi all, i may be buying a CET FV 180, are these still ok to be road registered, think i need proof of age document, any idea where i get this from? Regards Andrew
  14. This cat challenger is my current farm vechicle !

  16. Im a farmer from north yorkshire, i love my tracked vechicles, former fv 432 owner. Regards Andrew
