  1. Arrows trailer Bought this trailer for the registration lamp that I needed for my Chieftain tank now it's removed I have no further use for it. Looks to have had a new bed at some point and towed fine when I purchased it. First appropriate offer takes it. Thank you!
  2. As per the photos I have a full set of FV430 track pads. £1850 full set, I do have more if needed at a separate negotiation or will do a full load. Collection or I can deliver. Thanks
  3. Unfortunately sold last week I am afraid! Will update the list! Anything else you're still after? Seb
  4. Evening all, I have a stretcher and a load of clansman gear I have no use for as well as some abbott round caps. Also have some of the old welding gear for a 434 if someone wants some CES and CVRT night scope. I have no idea on value so will listen to a fair offer, collection preferred or I can drop off in a local area. Thanks all
  5. Nope after one myself, I have about 9 faulty ones mind...
  6. Afternoon all, I have a large pile of parts that ideally needs to go now that I have sold my vehicle. I have radio gear, headsets helmets 353s intercom boxes you name it as well as running gear and CES. Namely some parts below as an example: Track without pads but good condition 2 sets of track pads NOS Drive sprockets Rear idler mounts Pair of torsion bars with swing arms and hubs 3 Steering boxes 3 kick down pistons 2 superchargers Heat ex 434 hydraulic pump (One that bolts to transfer box) Top rollers Road wheels Pack frame Long side bins Top cage Periscopes Track tools Track links If there something else I probably have that as well just drop me a message Happy to take offers on any parts and discount if you want a lot of stuff, I would also consider spares for chieftain. I would supply photos but at this point would just spam the page with death by 1000 pictures so be easier to send the photos of what you would like. Thanks Seb
  7. No worries, its the same box and looks exactly same build and fitment as the one i dumped in my 434 thats all, chieftain has 8 long and thin ones that go into the tanks.
  8. Looks like a 430 fuel collecter tank filter
  9. Oh yeah, it has been full for a good while, about the bottom two inches are all corroded and a lot of terminals are now one mega terminal sadly.
  10. Not to my knowledge and no tell tale signs of damage, just trying to find the rotary box with the turret indicator to see if that does anything.
  11. No idea yet we’ve not got around to finding that out, struggling to get turret power. We’ve got the metadynes fired up but cannot get the GCE Cubicle to get power.
  12. Evening all, just wondering if anyone has one of these lying around that they would be willing to part with so I can continue on the journey to get my turret fully up and running. “Computer and Interface unit” FV 1013653 NSN 1290-99-966-4235. (Or 4233) Mine was doing its best to replicate being a fish tank. Thank you…
  13. Yes I have a Bren gun mount for FV430 vehicles so will fit an abbot. Drop me a message
  14. Good evening, just going through my books and I am trying to find the minimum thickness for chieftain steering brake discs. It would appear in all my documents I cannot find any inspection standards for it. A lead I have referenced through the user manual is: "Automotive servicing guide - Chieftain No.70584" Not sure if this is just a basic mechanic guide or anything vehicle specific. Alternatively if you know what the minimum thickness is that would be amazing and any documents you may have! Whilst we are at if you have what a New brake disc thickness would that would be brilliant for comparison. Thanks all!
  15. Andy - What information are you after? I've got some documents that I got from Rolls Royce after finding out about the K60T from the tank museum. It is fairly basic information but has some more detailed testbed information about performance compared to that of the K60 but still married to the same transmission. Radio - Yeah still did, there's an information leaflet knocking around titled sundance, which I always believed to be the 13A engines. But it does go on to say that sundance also incorporates a 1000bhp version under development, which I am assuming is this thing... Post Totem pole everything was brought up to Mk8 Standard so this was 1975. So easily by 1st Gulf everything was beyond this, some ARRVS were disposed with Mk8s as I have seen a couple of packs taken out of scrapped vehicles to donate to gun tanks, however by 1979 everything was running at least Mk11 in MBTs, to ensure the army deadline of April 1980 for everything running Mk13 in either rebuilt or new build configuration. Well this is according to an army document to Leyland about engine availability... But nothing about the turbocharger! So I do not know if it remained a private venture by Leyland/Rolls post the Sundance program of if the Challenger one stopped the venture. Would be good to see if there are any photographs of one on the test bed.
  16. Afternoon all, Today I got a lovely photoprint of an L60 engine with a twin turbocharger set up, I know that rolls royce in the mid 80s were missing with a K60T and K40T project which makes for some fascinating reading in its own right, but I have not come across anything in my time reading through archive documents or manuals that hints towards an L60 with a turbocharger or if it ever made it past a concept? Has anyone ever heard of got knowledge of this, would be fascinating to learn more of. For those who like engines, enjoy the attachment!
  17. Just busy and awake a lot with with, I’ll arrange someone to to collect or can send payment over rather than cash on collection. Will call hopefully today. Thanks.
  18. Evening, I thought I had already agreed to buy this? Unless this is a second one I am just waiting to finish a block of work away to get up to collect? I spoke to the number you provided two weeks back. Let me know.
  19. Friend of mine has this listed on the eBay. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/285017665225?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=YFwNwQq3RIC&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=YFwNwQq3RIC&var&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY&fbclid=IwAR373Ntf68BT4muXtN6-rGGH5tyA1-MdaGoZBJ14uiCBFMNCn3FdWBGLfxA I have no connection with the vehicle.
  20. Hey all, slowly going through the shed whilst confined to the house for a bit. I really need to thin out things I no longer need or have no use for, as well as random things found in stillages that are well, random. Have two engine covers for fv430 series in fairly poor condition. Tirfor winch with no handle. Selection of co-ax spent case catchers. The FV numbers seem to show up for chally 2 but not sure if they are used across other things. As I go through the shed I will just keep adding to this post to make it nice and easy. Drop me a message for any more information or closer photographs. Thanks.
  21. Evening all, I am wondering if any of you could possible ID this part, it came as a job lot and not sure what it is, I have tried to search the FV number which returned 0 results. Looks like some kind of weapon mount. Thanks all, Seb s
  22. Fantastic! Im truly amazed at how much everything is moving around! Looks like shes got some miles on her! Plenty of patchwork! Amazing and great video with great sound.
  23. Thanks for the reply, this is something I have looked into doing, putting in a smaller tank replacing the fuel pump to a modern equivalent but have decided against it, as much as the fuel quantity is large, the farm where I keep my vehicle does fully intend to use it as a working vehicle to help them out, which also makes my rent cheaper! But for the sakes of my limited fabrication skills etc I decided to follow down this route and just trying to future proof myself until the time comes to fully sort out my fuel tank and replace with a newer alternative. Ive got full new filters and lines going in to ensure that the new supply of diesel is at the best it can be!
  24. Hey all, I am looking around online at different fuel tank repair options, forgive me if this is in the wrong area Ill happily move it but thought as it is generic I would post in this area. I am currently repairing my fuel tank due to damage in my 434, and maybe I am being overly paranoid but because I never ever ever want to take this thing back out I want to make sure when it goes back that it has as much work done to it now so it can live in there quite happily. I have come across this thing called fuel tank "Re-Nu". (https://www.fueltanks.co.uk/) It advertises on there they have done classic vehicles, to sherman fuel tanks, DAF drops and jeeps. I am just wondering has anyone come across this before or had it done to their fuel tanks? What are you experiences? Would you recommend it? Let me know, thank you. Seb
