  1. Desperately need to get my hands on replacement wheel studs, can anyone point me in the right direction?
  2. Official bumpf 'Hendon Pageant - Flight Path to Liberty 20 June - 21 June As part of our D-Day celebrations, the theme for this year’s Hendon Pageant is “Summer of 44 – The Flight Path to Liberty”. There will be a chance to meet re-enactors and view military vehicles. Special tours, talks and interactive workshops will also be taking place.' Any groups or individuals interested in coming along or bringing an MV please drop me a line. For info anyone coming along the Northern line to visit can get the chance to travel on 1938s rolling stock (Between Kings cross and Edgware) and maybe even on an omnibus from the station to the museum - this is to be confirmed but it's looking good so far. Just want to clarify that this show is open to anyone who is interested in coming along, not just for the RAF types! Interested parties please drop me a line.
  3. Only just under two years for me to remember to reply! The RR armoured car was loaned out to the RAF Regt museum at Honington.
  4. Resurrecting an old thread. 1 Queens late 80s early 90s. By late '80's alot of mix with DPM which was used in the field. As said earlier the lined combats had become a cherished item and the old sweats tried to keep hold of these especially for guard duties, 'Jungle' dpm trousers also in use by some of the more solvent amongst the troops again in the field. As for patterns of DPM, we had plenty, I had a pair which had been made from a horrible material, lighter then other DPM and like a pair of drainpipes, but would hold a lovely crease, especially with some additives!
  5. Would anyone know of any good MOT inspectors in the North Londonish area. Need to get a Chevy C8 and Jeep sorted.
  6. I'll drop him a line and see what happens. :-D
  7. Anyone know of any good Jeep mechanics in the North London area? Require brake work and possibly some other bits done. :-D
  8. The old Rolls Royce is long gone into storage, couldn't tell you exactly but a few years now.
  9. I had a look at the online and its a difficult one to get through, I will have to try and get along to the IWM to get hands on but I was hoping to get some info sooner specially from the Queens Regt archives and museum but to no avail.
  10. I hope someone can help, after pics of vehicles in use by 7th armoured during WW2, primarilly of the Queens Royal Regiment Battalions, but anything on a Jeep, Chevrolet C8 and BSA M20.
  11. Right just wanted to confirm that you don't have to wait until the last minute to put your names down just let me know that you would like to come along and I'll send you a form and info, its THAT easy!!!
  12. Yeh, basically dry firing a weapon means to cock and release the action without any rounds of ammunition in.
  13. Cheers Steve, Lewis thought you might be along so I shall confirm that with him. By the way we'll make sure you get a brew this time! :-D
  14. Right you lot stop messing around and start requesting booking forms! Its not just for WW2 vehicles we do have a small space at the back of the museum for the modern stuff just behind the wheely bins (Only joking!!!) :-D Modern kit more then welcome!
  15. Just wanted to check. What is the PROPER size for Jeep tyres? For example am I going mad or was it correct that I read they where smaller during the war and now larger with the modern tyres we use?!? :?
  16. Thats right, although the assault course was gone by the late eighties you can still make out alot of the main buildings and the ICFT route at the back of the camp when Private pile was being dragged along on his platoon run.
  17. Shame about the closed bits, but its the usual thing of staff shortages (Due to sickness), they are recruiting more staff but they won't be fully on strength for about a month after they start due to training etc. Now on to the BofB, the lighting has been a issue since the 'Our finest hour' film show was installed, the lighting is kept low due to the types of lighting in use for it, you need to try and get along when the show isn't working then all the lights are put on :-D. But some very nice pics taken which is always good to see (but no Humber armoured car!).
  18. OK everyone, all those interested in bringing vehicles along please form an orderly queue. The weekend of the 2nd/3rd June 2007 'Hendon pageant' at the RAF Museum Hendon (Or London as they like it known as now  ). Living History Displays, Talks from the dept of Research, archive film footage as well as ALL those lovely aeroplanes (What more could you want!.....oh yes sorry nearly forgot, yes they do sell booze in the restaurant). I do have booking forms anyone interested drop me a line. Many thanks
  19. I had thought about something like that for my wagon. Did find the below pic of someones vehicle, possibly a C8/F8. src="http://i109.photobucket.com/albums/n46/longbow2001uk/c8_04.jpg" The thing could be fabricated but the seat would be a pain.
  20. Anyone have info on the camoflage on CMPS '40-'41? need to get me C8 painted and need to know if its camo or just a plain colour.
  21. Sorry I haven't got back to you Steve, thanks for the pics will come in very handy.
  22. Thanks Richard, I'll have to keep my eyes peeled at Beltring.
  23. Cheers richard for the info, this is an awful cheek but would you have any pics of the type of kit I should be looking for? the trailer we have is a repro mortar(?) type and has no electrical kit fitted at all.
