Caddy
Whilst working on the ARRV at Duxford we found that the main bearing in the Main Engine Generator had eaten itself. Easy job to repair, but the are other issues: The drive shaft has two Metalastik bushes on it, I guess they are there to A) take any shocks out of the drive (like a Cush drive on a motorbike), and B) to shear in case the genny seizes. as our genny did seize one bush was shredded, the other split, and the woodruff key sheared. So does anyone know where I could get replacement Metalastik bushes from? 1.5" I/D, 3" O/D, 1.4" thick cheers Paul
MatchFuzee
If you are still looking for Metalastic bushes you could try:- http://www.partline.co.uk/Automotive/x-supplier.asp?SUPL=METALASTIK http://www2.renkulde.no/MKDokume.nsf/41323DB31D6AEE95C1257059003E76B3/$FILE/Teknisk-katalog-Novibra-Metalastik-engelsk.pdf
Caddy
Thanks, I am looking, and found the first website, but they do not have the one we need. Wondering if anyone else knows of a supplier in the UK?
MatchFuzee
Another couple of possibilities:- http://www.processingarena.co.uk/companies/butser-rubber-ltd-rubber-moulders/products/rubber-to-metal-bonding http://www.gmt-rubber.com/PDFs/Bushes.pdf If you can't find the correct size would it be acceptable to sleeve or machine the inside and/or the outer diameter?
