  1. Thanks for all your help guys, success :). I found the feed for the radios, it had been cut off with about a foot of cable left and live ends left! I put a two pin plug on the end and went straight into a distribution box.

Made up 2 brackets wit a bit of 8mm steel and attached to the roll bar with the U-bolt that hold the weapons mount to the rollbar. Turned up an aluminium spacer as the U-bolt nut covered the lamp's plug socket!

Changed a 3 pin plug on a connecting lead to a 2 pin plug (connected the Earth and Negative together) (Pin A was +), connected to the distribution box and blow me down it lit up! I can see in the dark :)

  2. Thanks guys,

Got the light through today and It has a 3 pin plug and not a 2 pin as i expected! Found the right lead on ebay, but does anyone know which pin is which? The light is a Type 3 Mark 1 FV562009 so it is the 24V one and not the 110V one. I just diddnt expect 3 pins for 24 volt equipment ?!

    Cheers C.

  3. Thought some here may be interested in this.

A few months ago I had a go at leaf printing with C4 and thought i'd post up the end product as i was amazed!

The basic idea is You get a stainless steel plate about 150mm square and 5mm thick. Place on this a leaf of your choice ( I used an apple leaf from a tree i planted when my son was born) and mould an even layer of C4 about 8mm thick over the top (the compulsory fire extinguisher is handy for rolling it flat) Add a lump on the edge to stick a det in, retire and detonate.

I still cant believe how well it came out. With the power of C4 I thought it would just have vapourised the leaf. The plate was placed on a base of 1" thick steel plate and that was all buckled with 3" scabs coming of the reverse, but every detail of the leaf has imprinted itself in the plate!

And who said science was boring!

Before anyone asks, the C4 was lawfully available and stored / transported inline with COER / ADR... The only thing was we didn't have a storage licence for HT1, just purchase and possession..... so we had to use it all or make the long drive back to a HE HT1 store..... At £80 / kg makes financial sense to use it.wink.png

  4. Is there such a thing?

I think I know the publication is AESP 2320-D-122-601?

    I have the Second edition dated Feb 91 & the Third edition ( that Green Machine Surplus / vintage manuals sell for the wolf) Dated July 94 as sold below;

    http://www.greenmachinesurplus.com/land-roverxdwolfmaintenance-schedule-342-p.asp

First of all the Wolf wasn't in service till 98 give or take and also it makes no mention of the Wolfs individuality e.g. the R380 gearbox.

Is there a Maintenance Schedule for the wolf? Is it in civy world? Or am I just being very blind and stupid?!!!

    Best,

    Charlie

  5. Another question, Is there a bracket to fit the penthouse light to the top of the roll bar behind the front seats in a wolf or was it cable tied? And were these just wired direct to the battery or was there a distribution box used somewhere?

    Best,

    Charlie
