    Hi owl,

its nice , if you see on my articlec about MWC,

    that you like my work,

    your MWD , now analyze?

Know chassis number is good for restoration becouse from 1940 to 1945,

    MWD were few differences,

for example- dash boards, body, air filters.... etc., etc., etc.

I have now project for chassis MW "late early" (from Poland) by chassis number was build 1941 as MWG,

it was between "early" and full windscreen (two doors) models,

one this "late early" is on Malta museum, in nice condition,(search more pictures this Malta MW)

I wish to communicate with other owners Bedfords MW,

and maybe in future(with rippo and you?) make meeting MWs, for example in Normandy on D-day celebration,

I wish you a successful finnish reconstruction!

I one old atricle i see nice beautiful sentence "Bedford MW is Rolls between military trucks"

    regards

  3. Thanks, hadn't thought of that.

    oh, yes its true,

Czechoslovak brigade was in Prague only two days 17 and 18.may 1945,

becouse Prague was in the Russian ocupation zone, but Czechoslovak brigade was under command US Army (!), Russians dont want this very heavy armed brigade in own zone,

only two days , with out munitions(!) not only for guns, but every soldier brigade was with out

    munition for pistols, rifles, MG(!).

18.may 1945 was in main town Prague great parade for Czechoslovak land army for west,

many hours go all Cs. armoured brigade (all vehicles) across down town, oh, Russians generals dont like!

Only few days after end of war!

  4. Just noticed a JPIV/48 listed on http://the.shadock.free.fr/Surviving_Panzer_IV_variants.pdf , pictured in the 1980s, dug in on the Golan Heights. No mention of one at Latrun.

only notes- i have long time info (unverified) about ex-German Panzer IV and others,

in the few post war years was in service Czechoslovak army, together with Russian T-34 and Cromwells,

first time Czech goverment supported Iserael armed forces, mainly Spitfire IX, Me-109 and hands weapons with munition.

But Russian make late change, stop support for Iserael, and Czech goverment must susend support to Arabian countries Egypt and Syria.

And for Syria was send supply with this Panzers IV.

    Maybe its true.

  9. Tomas,

That is a good photo. The number puts it as an impressed vehicle / ambulance. It is a prewar WL or WT, that is probably impressed and a Mann Egerton body hurriedly put on the chassis. The front door is in the body as it is intended for an integral cab, like K2 and ML.

There is a similar one in Bart Vanderveen's Bedford book.

    Thanks Richard,

    think is good write "hurriedly",

  10. John,

I have posted questions up about this ambulance in the past. A Bedford ML front wing was further forward and did not encroach on the bulkhead as a K2 one does, but the ambulance shown here appears to be an Austin but with an OY or MW bonnet, see the side covers, very odd.

I have one nice wartime picture from desert, Bedford ML ambulance , but is under copyright,

and one more picture is on http://www.gettyimages.com/detail/3329246/Hulton-Archive

think is very interesting picture Bedford ML(?) november 1940,

think abulance box is on front reduced, but with front inside door(!) and full Bedford cab with roof(!),

    Tomas

  11. Hi,

    like wartime Bedfords,

and see(only) in the book info about very rare model from 1940 year, 397 Bedfords ML54 ambulance.

there more pictures war or post -war service?

    or more details?

Ambulance box was build on (for me ) unknown chassis ?

    Thanks for info,

  14. Hi Radek,

Off thread, but bottom left of your first photo is a Ward Lafrance M1A1 towing what looks like a QL. Are there any more photos showing these two vehicles?

    Thanks - Mike

    HI Mike,

sorry Im Tomas, not Radek,:D, I search about this "Army film unit" vehicle,

this pictures with Ward laFrance is from Pilsen town ,main Republic square,

18.may 1945, after liberation by US Army,

and in this time was in Pilsen many, many US Army vecles from 3rd US Army,

18.may back home Czechoslovak brigade from Dunkirk battlefield and

on Pilsen main square was stirred American, Canadian and British vehicles,

think this Ward was from US Army or from Canadian heavy transport unit,

becouse transport all Czechoslovak Cromwell tanks from Dunkirk make Canadian heavy trucks with trailers.

If you want? sent to you more pic ,this Ward(think are),

There's also a picture of a MWC based YMCA van in Bart Vanderveen's Bedford & Vauxhall Military Vehicles.

    Thank you for help,

picture in Vanderervees book is very nice (but only one),

I see first time picture this scale model, and true orig.wartime picture,

think about my Bedford MW chassis (its only chassis on tyres),

in few books about Czech RAF squadrons members, or ground armed forces, warime stories, here was few notes about Czech women members NAAFI/Ymca, with small trucks,

On MLU is nice pictures, but not Bedford MW,

maybe thare are more pictures Bedford MW "Tea Box" ?

I'm sorry to let MW gear useless.

Thank you all, for more info and help,
