Considering a Trabant as a new vehicle. Did the eastern bloc army actually use them in military service, if so has anyone got any pics to share?
oh, yes , Military Trabant is very, very interesting DDR "Jeep", I see this vehicle first time in 1990,
and think its choke(!),but not, its original variant Trabant make only for military service,
with out doors and roofless, I not expert , only just me, the "diabolical" bakelite two-stroke combat "Jeep" of East German, very interested !

hi Arjan,
Thank you for your interest,
I very much appreciate your opinion
because you already renovated Austin Tilly.
After four months of work, the body is ready.
I have to repair the door, and the cabin
doors are left in a very, very bad condition,
rusted, badly repaired, cut (!), again poorly welded.
It will be hard work.

Im sorry, but on this second picture is Bedford OX,Thanks Maurice, was good meeting you again.
I've attached a picture with the areas Maurice pointed out to me earlier this week. The area circled in red is wood covered with sheet metal on early aeroscreen MW's, as opposed to sheet metal only on later ones.
Also the area circled in yellow has indentations on early aeroscreen MW's, where they used cab pressings from OY - see second picture.
Did I get that right Maurice?
Thanks,
Hanno

What colour should the steering wheel be ? its green plastic at the moment but the centre MCC nut cover is a blackish/brown colour is that correct, is it black early vehicles & green later & I have a mix ?
Hi Ian,
I have few steeng wheels , black and green plastic.
Repair is possible, to a certain extent of damage, remove rust, use a fine filler
and spray with green or black, so I corrected the steering wheel at MWC.

Hi Arjan, thank you for the comprehensive explanation. I understand and I understand.
I just wanted to say that I try And save on every car, all original.
If this is possible.
As an extreme opposite mention, rebuilding HOT ROT.
I do not understand and do not understand.

Very good Tom. Did you put the pressings in your self?....How?
Regards Ron
Hi Ron,
I am pleased that you like my work, 14 days of work, thinking how he solved the problem with offsets? Without this detail, Tilly would not be good.
It's simple, sheet metal parts, I cooked at the back door, ohladil edges
that everything looked like originally pressed.
Thank you for interes,

It looking great.
Did you use some original metal sheet? We made the rear body sides with new wood and new metal, as the old ones were beyond repair (dents and holes). It was also made of galvanized metal.
Hi Arjan,
yes this orig tin sheet is on first picture,
I want to keep as much original material. I know that the result will not be the best, but original is original, has not lost the spirit to Tilly ....
I saw that on your Tilly is all new and looks fantastic, but I much prefer
All the original, even if such sheet is slightly creased.
thanks for interest,
regards Tom

because, wooden filling in the columns is destroyed, the plate is destroyed, the door is broken and I have a great concern
that is hard to go close.
Make fotos, I'll try to fix everything, add the missing parts, hopefully I can get everything put together,
