Thanks for that link Rob. Always good to find different forums to have a look through and will add this one to the list once I get five minutes.

Looking good Guy, will be good to see this at W&PR over the summer.

Just to let you know that the Corowa episode of Classic Restos is now online, my guess is it will be for about two weeks only, so go to;

Richard
Thanks for that link Richard, really enjoyed that 25 minutes of viewing as it's always good to see different vehicles and see the show in motion having read and seen pictures online. Love the subtle sponsors advertisements which presenter Fletch has to put out

This morning an aircraft refueller , and a nice Mack troop carrier on their way to the Riverside steam rally http://toolbar.inbox.com/xfb_redir.aspx?CP=3GNWggd7514AZgveN3BK_CoLxOVmul6CzJBmMyrKXWf7dP_2rkRGJLAbqU7p_H1v9eWv-c_IbMqJs2H-Zf3juIpkqBKVNz7GSE-UL5gL3RCHMnhM7qIWjY74ukIfr-r6CFsdtK9mPnKf788MPR49jGvmm34xgxJ6E0oIGLGAZtDEUb4SU5u13OVw2QQzmiR0qs0z2MyldpGUmbsBN1CN1ia9ITwTqsce-dN-LvUEpwLrFwT2kOOUsqpMUEVQjDKGX6pweiZoZdcGlObWq25DHaaxr29gZbD9HcS8BGwFA4er9NiyBgyUXIY8sWXuKVd5Gt_pwQFBQxSZ44LeafCxpZgDOvZ2DmobLUJbMx8NYkzaH9zFZw430uG8GhJC5iUWu2W2-sJgMx3QN8Fq3MENY7GAzrDDmRWC0NuYggCFc0XicYxe-F8WxmT_0HbRIr0l7lZ0OO-Cbqmm0YcTBuvn0mh_CekGijc6kiIiYUUjUIxew6crIdMjPj5LTCj9-C-ssBySJiqDnIjQMEVoX8ewdNLw_lkVPVNMAP2i9WfUafruCJA4fuIHjh2WTiuR7c-OsmI9Y6TeuNKKNUU9IJQO1k8nPHo7XNnP15Di_5f_Pj2DrC4mRQQN9DHxPUB5df_nw8CguxJNqCCfINlMxi0qYCZPvMgsVOss4Kei3njgkMmpUxLGF4IrYgxfK8uiDVppt589pFsLGmIswDI2D-LMc
This show is one I've always wanted to go to but it always falls on a bad weekend for me. Will get to go one year, hope to see some pictures from the event from anyone that goes to it from HMVF.

Welcome to the forum, a Morris GS8 Compressor truck ay, that sounds interesting and can't remember seeing one of those around before. Would be great to see some pictures.
-
Morning fellas, we have the sorrowful remains of four of these lovely old trucks. Non are for sale but we would be more than happy to trade information and moral support! Best regards, James.

There was a story in one of the Classic Vehicle magazines a couple of months ago about a number of these being acquired by the same person/company somewhere in the UK some time ago, was this you James? Will try and dig it out as can't quite remember exact details. Certainly a rare vehicle.

.......................................I handed in my dissertation today! 3 years of hard graft all over! (as long as I pass!!!)
Just to say thanks to those of you that helped me on one of my assignments, drinks on me in the club house tonight. Get in there soon though, I intend on having a good old fashioned Rosie stylee knees up :-D:beer::beer::dancing::dancing::yay::kissoncheek:
Well done Rosie, always a great feeling to hand in this final piece of the jigsaw!

Thanks for sharing your memories and pictures Edd. Always good to see pictures from different periods and to look out for vehicles which you've seen or are/aren't still around. Campsite certainly looked a little muddy!

Excellent find and a restoration which I will look forward to following.
Looks like where it was resting was an interesting place, Thomas Green Road Roller and a Scammell Explorer in the background of one of the pictures.

Agreed......and I have just looked at what his battalion (1st Buckingham Battalion (TA) Ox & Buck LI) went through in the BEF in 1940, FOUR YEARS BEFORE he went back to France on D-Day...........massive heroic action around Hazebrouck, many casualties and the battalion decimated.........he was lucky to escape alive and unwounded.........and then he went back on D-Day and fought his way from France, through Belgium, Holland and into Germany..........incredible man....as were they all......
It's fantastic that you have this bit of his uniform and have also managed to detail his time in the armed services during WW2. I'm doing something similar on my great-grandfather at the moment and have managed to acquire his Unit's War Diaries for the period September 1939 - June 1940, they are a real incite into what this generation went through. Sadly he died long before I was born so never got chance to speak to him face-to-face.

Had to help my mom dig her way into work this morning. This is the road up to where she works, but it was totally impassable by car, I can't remember seeing snow this bad. We've had a number of roads around by us either closed altogether or shut down to just one lane due to snow drifts. Crazy stuff.

Has been sold off to a US based company: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-21934077

I had the same problem posting.
The AA thing cured it.
It does, but you have to click on it each time you put a new post up as I haven't worked out how to save it as a pre-set yet.
I wonder if it has anything to do with a recent Internet Explorer update?

Got sent this clip over the weekend: http://www.youtube.com/watch_popup?v=Ms84WfJwalI&feature=pla%20yer_embedded
Thought it might be of interest to others considering it got commandeered for military use. It's a bit of American Propaganda as well but we'll forgive them for that :-D

Do you know when these were taken? I have come across a couple of 2011 photo's that show it looking much better than this (search numberplate in Google)
Hi Rog, these were taken by myself in 2005 at the Hollowell Steam Show. It was owned by Paul Rhodes who had a number of different heavy machines at the time, including the Matador next to this one.
I've googled the numberplate and to me those pictures look like when it was it service on the fairgrounds or when it first entered preservation. I only say this as if you look at the chrome bumper there seems to be an old Ford Fiesta in the reflection. Just my thoughts.

Cheers Tony.
That seems to have done the trick,

There is an APC at Whittington Barracks, Lichfield, however I don't have a picture. This is based at Ashdown Camp and was captured during Desert Storm IIRC:

For some reason when I make posts and use the private message system I'm unable to put a space between my lines, despite pressing enter and shift and enter. This leads to long drawn out lines of text and doesn't look good. I only have this problem on HMVF as have tried other forums and everything seems fine. Any help much appreciated!

Plenty here in Staffordshire, roads closed and schools shut with more expected in the next 24 hours also. Doesn't the weather know that the show/cricket season starts in just over a week? :-D
-
It's certainly starting to come along, keep up the good work and what a lovely vehicle it will be once it's finished.

Two lightweight Land Rovers in Stoke yesterday. One on the A34 with camo netting and one on the A500 with a more working look to it. Anyone's on here?
Spotted today....
