  1. Recon engines on the frame have been found to almost thrown together. One example on 2.5na was a timing case fully assembled, including water pump ect and the belt tensioner was loose inside. Another had water in the bores and badly rusted yet looked as good as new on the outside on its re-build frame.

Its just a case of buyer beware.

  2. Hello MC!

go in your TM really changed my mind!

Looks like it might not be around for long as Si has been lured to the Militant way and has his eye on a Mk3! :-D

Wish someone got a picture of Grumpy and Dave playing wacky racers up the hill on the way home!

  3. You need to remove the end of the passengers side dash that covers the wiper motor. Remove the plastic trim that sits around the lip of the lower dash tray then the end cover can be un screwed. I would also check the switch as they can get warm and the plastic melts around the contacts.

    Jon.

  4. The trip down to Kemble was a pre Beltring warm up run as Grumpy had never took the Militant much more than 5 miles from the yard. In a mad rush it was stripped and painted in the 3 days before we left on Friday then fixed the clutch on Friday afternoon 2 hours before we left in a down pour!

    Grumpys and Militant Grahams together.

On Saturday we a had a go at using Grahams 10 ton Recovery Dolly to recover the Militant. Its the first time Graham had used it to pick up something so it was a case of trial and error. :-D

Had a cracking weekend, our first time at Kemble. Seeing the Cheiftains running around the arena made me want one even more. :-) Good to meet TooTallMike and Grasshopper the Ward is lovely. See you at Beltring.

  5. That looks like a Landrover series 2 diesel ignition switch. It should have a key barrel in the middle and the wings are there to help turn the switch against spring pressure rather than all the force being put key/barrel.

When i get chance later on i will get a part number for you.

Out she comes, very black an oily in the bellhousing. :-(

Should be driving properly ready for Kemble MVT show. :-D
