  1. 30 Signals Regiment had AC mounted on their older SATCOM vehicles. On Op Essential Harvest / Op Bessimer in Macedonia 2001, when 16 Air Assault Brigade deployed to collect weapons from warring factions, the Brigade only had Wolf TUM and TUL but the 30 Sigs Land Rover was a 110 with Air Con.
  2. Just connect the ARFAT to the UK/VRC353 with the large control cable and small co-ax and connect the ARFAT to the TUAAM with a small co-ax and a Clansman 7 pin. The ARFAT - TUAAM connection is where you can add a bit of extra length (not too much though) My best advice is get an EVHF or EKGSA
  3. Yes, you would be able to use a GSA, but only at low power settings, 50W will trash the GSA. Elements required would depend on the frequency you are using. Other Ae systems that you can use are:- Elevated Kit GSA (EKGSA) Ground Mounted Monopole (GMM) Inverted V TUUAM and ARFAT if you've got long enough cables You can even get into making your own Ae systems from D10 or R4 (copper wire) if you are that way inclined.
  4. You would need an AC Power Supply Unit that gives you 24v into a Clansman 2 Pin power lead. Ae wise, I would recommend an Elevated Very High Frequency (EVHF) antenna or pineapple mounted up as high as possible and the large and small co-ax cable to connect it to the radio. Tragically, I got very excited when I saw your post, this is the burden of being a Clansman Regimental Signals Instructor....
  5. Looks like a 16/24 Gen set used for powering large complexes such as Field Hospitals and large Head Quarters. There were a couple of versions of these, they had a 3 pin service socket on one of the panels that was very useful for a kettle. They were replaced by FEPS Field Electrical Power Source. FEPS was/is great, but you have to wire all the outputs up correctly, otherwise, the computer control will not allow it to deliver power, not good if you are in a hurry or you can't get a good earth. Is yours mounted on a 1 3/4 tonne trailer?
  6. The RAF only flew gliders operationally from late 1944, the Glider Pilot Regiment of the Army Air Corps were the pioneers British Glider flying. http://www.gliderpilotregiment.org.uk
  7. Sounds like a modified Arctic Windproof smock. Look inside the cuffs for the original velcro fasteners under the woollen cuffs, that might give you a clue. Got any pics?
  8. Wheel bearings for an FV2381 MkIII are they a single bearing or an inner or an outer? Also, are there any other civilian part number bits for the braking system such as discs and pads? Regards,
  9. The bin looks like the the CVR(T) GPMG mount, it was mounted on the right hand side of the gun to catch ejected brass and link while the rounds would have been fed from a 200 round H82 container on the left hand side. I had one very similar in my CES when I was a FV105 Sultan driver back in the days when the Army Air Corps still had armoured command posts.
  10. From memory, in the early 90's the PVC 'crisp packet' waterproof was replaced by an MVP DPM jacket with velcro pockets mounted low down on the front and a jacket with velcro bellows chest pockets. These were superseded by a jacket with a wired hood and large button (arctic windproof style) chest pockets. Followed by the CS95 pattern DPM MVP jacket with no pockets. In addition, there is the POL protective DPM MVP jacket and trousers introduced in the early 2000's. Got any pics of what you are interested in? I'll try and ID it.
  11. Afternoon, Thank you for allowing me to join the HMVF, I've got a part share in a Bedford MJ and an Alvis Tactica, also, i'm slowly restoring a Mk3 Wide Track trailer, any advice will be gratefully received ! Still serving in the Army after 17 years, you'd think i'd learn to find a grown up hobby. Regards, Brewstop
