  1. Thank you for that advice. I was wondering if one finds oneself with a wider trailer than the towing vehicle (in my case a Land Rover Defender) then I wonder if it's possible to make the Land Rover wider by attaching jerry can holders with jerry can in them, on either side of the Landy? This probably would not be considered acceptable by the "John Darms" in France eh? All the best Rock
  2. Hi everyone. I plan to take my Sankey expedition trailer tent around Europe next year and I was wondering if any of you know if there are any particular regulations that I should be aware of when towing around Europe? What paperwork, if any, must I carry that relates to the Sankey? If my Tyres (BF Goodrich All Terrain- 235/85/16) stick out a little from the side of the trailer must there be an an extra mud guard fitted? Ta Rock
  3. Thank you all for your replies but I'm afraid I am a bit lost with all the numbers and abbreviations- for example what is NSN? and what doe WH mean on my Sankey plate? Sorry if I appear thick but all this is quite new to me
  4. Thank you Mr Elliot for your reply. I have had a look at the plate and it reads as follows: Trailer Cargo, 3/4 Ton 2 WH Sankey No. V236 Vehicle No. 24 GB 24 CES No. 33984 Chassis No. 451 Code No. 2855 0790 And the plate on the body reads: Assembly No. FV.746810 I hope this pins it down precisely. Thanks again Rock
  5. Hello everyone. I have bought a Sankey wide track trailer that has been converted to an expedition trailer tent but I want to replace the outer bearings and wheel studs as they are all rather worn. I have bought some bearings from MM4x4 in Droitwich who have told me that they are the same as a series Land Rover (is this true? they certainly look the same) But does anyone know where the best place I could get new wheel studs from? Also what would be the best grease to use when packing the new bearings in? Any other advice would be greatly appreciated as I want this Sankey to be well looked after. My Wife and I and our young Son are planning a big trip round Europe next year in our Land Rover Defender towing the Sankey expedition trailer as our accommodation- so I really want the trailer to be in top notch condition. Many thanks in advance Kind regards Rock
  6. I stumbled upon this forum by accident yesterday when I was looking for information regarding my Sankey, I'm so pleased that I did. A great site. Regards Rock
