  1. That's a good site. Have added it to my favourites. The nuts look a bit lightweight but might do in the right place. Can't find 'Grover' or 'Thackery' washers there though! (My current search!)

    Steve

I've bought growers (British types), to use on Dodge and GMC, at their local shop , here in my neighborhood.

  2. Actually , we did it in a hurry to get it ready for Normandy , last year. The Jeep had US registration numbers , on olive drab , and we only added the satin black "Mickey Mouse" ears , to it . No particular numbers of paint were used , common black satin.

  3. http://www.bunkerbehoud.com/

A Dutch association , who took the honourable task, to restore and preserve the bunkers on the Walcheren peninsula,

We had the honour to a private visit of several restored bunkers , we were amazed , inside and outside restored as they were back in 1944 , beds , tables , colestove , even periscopes and personal belongings of the former occupators, it was all there.

Those men are doing fantastic jobs over there!!!

  4. Great work , like to see people taking it all apart , my friends blame me I'm doing too much work on my restorations , dismantling ,grinding , painting every single part, yes even the bolts , nuts/washers,

Takes a lot of time , I cannot do it other ways, it just won't give me that good feeling afterwards!!

    :-\

  5. Got a generator in my shed , looking for some more information about it , made by "NEW AGE" has Air Ministry identification plates riveted on , looks very original to me , no modifications , except the wheels ,

who knows more about it ?

  6. L and R , indeed , very easy to recognize for us , but imagine , doing repairs in the field ,rainy weather , mud, or in the dark , very handy than using diffrent colours for left -right side

It has been told by a veteran !!!

  7. I've been told , by a veteran of an artillery troop , on split rims , red colour for the nuts which holds the 2 halves together , and white for the nuts that were LEFT THREADED only , no standard regulation , more a practical manner of recognition on first sight between left threaded and right threaded nuts ,

    seems logical-practical to me !!

when nuts are mixed , due to reparation , very easy to separate , no possibility to use the "wrong" nut
