Does anyone have a source for the transfers/decals used on the jeep junior filter, fuel filter etc? Also where to get a stencil for the tilt rear (LHD vehicle No Hand Signals etc)
Thanks

I remember using the EDC and there was a spool of wire that went across the terminals similar to a thin fuze wire and this melted as a test, there were also bulbs which fitted into a bulb holder for same test. The fusion test kit was a wooden box with various spools and terminals that was powered up by the EDC and used to test power output with various thicknesses etc. Dangerous too as it could kill with its 650 volt charge in the wrong circumstances, wet, humid weather etc and you holding a wire or acting as a conductor.
A lot simpler with the shrike when that came in as continuity was tested with a button press and light coming on etc.

There are still a pair being used by 71 Engr Regt (V) - HQ at RAF Leuchars- here in Scotland. They are on strength and may be a source of info and parts etc. We used them (manned by their Sappers) on the recent military exercise 'The Pipers Trail' as part of Saltire backdrops in the sky (june and July 08)
Also used to illuminate hillsides to aid mountain rescue or other similar emergencies etc.

I am looking at painting my jeep in a two tone desert cam (circa 1942/43) with desert yellow sand/stone as the base and another colour on top.
Does anyone know of any patterns and colours that would be suitable or a good source showing same?
Thanks

Hi
Anyone got any manuals (pref British Forces) and instructions for using WW2 sun compass (Howard, Bagnold or other types) and set of azimuth tables.
Also looking for a repro WW2 (or otherwise) sun compass, and military theodolite.
thanks

Nothing has been changed only rewired etc but nothing opened up -it was 12v previously and all that has been renewed was new switches etc and lights but nothing on the charging or fuel side.
I also 'flashed' the regulator as per it's instructions (written on it) to polarise
thanks

Help please
In attempt to rewire my jeep -a previous owner did everything in red wires and missed out some links etc. I have 2 queries...
1, Fuel guage -works but reads low and when catching float and moving up to top of tank it still reads only half full - is there a method to calibrate the sender to guage? or test same
2, Ammeter - the wires were a total cluster and trying to rewire previously wrongly wired cables (which were burnt out) the ammeter only moves slightly off centre mark -it worked alone and same with test meter -2 amps reading average- would it be possibly the regulator (previously wired up wrong way) which needs polarising or can it be generator -these all worked before the wire cluster and burn out.
The jeep has been converted to 12v and appears to work fine otherwise, starts and runs fine
thanks

Hi
Can anyone help me find, or even send info on (Diameter, sizes, length etc), where to get the 2 longer bolts (UNC?)used on the internal ebrake - they are the longer ones that go through the brake backing plate and the Transfer case cap (housing) and into the transfer case itself. There was no EBrake on my 43 GPW at all nor the proper housing for any type of brake.
In reality it would be the external contracting type but thought the internal one a better option for reliability etc.
The ones in the catalogues and parts lists (and I have had numerous ones from Jeep Parts and other places) are about 1/4" too short - even though I go on to retailers and tell them this they only seem to have ones for external housings etc.:???

thanks, now opted for the internal type - ease of fitting, less parts to buy etc. just need a few pictures of how the cable for that type works and is affixed to lever and x member or tfer box etc

OK clear now, I thought it was an extra one and was for hanging it not joining to two parts- I used a U clamp like normal exhausts!
Thanks for photos and assistance

Many thanks
I have the skid plate clamp, the large oval one round the muffler and the small one that clamps under it onto a flexible strip and plate etc and one that goes round the tail pipe onto another rubber strip and plates. The one that confuses me is another round one similar to tail pipe one (minus rubber strip etc) as I cannot see where this one goes -is this surplus- jeep parts sent this as part of the fitting kit.

thank you

Thanks for photo, I can see how far from cross member it lies, I will be eventually fitting a skid plate- I take it that it bolts directly to the plate using the u shaped clamp,, I have the muffler and tail pipe clamps with rubber hangers etc but another round clamp I am not sure where it or the skid plate one fits onto- any more as to where these are located please?

are there any good drawings, photos or diagrams on exhaust routing for a GPW? my jeep came with a full length cj exhaust due to Californian emmissions etc, there are no clues to where my recently purchased gpw exhaust fits onto and no bracket that can be seen re same. the under transmission plate is also missing which I believe the pipe attaches to before it reaches muffler.

The first ones came out in late 50s -leather case denotes earlier ones as the later 60/70s models were webbing cased. The RE publications section at Brompton Bks in Chatham or the RE Museum same place would have info booklets re EDC etc
