To maybe take a different spin on the question, the challenge with wartime British and Commonwealth vehicles tends to be information. You can get copies of most (if not all) US vehicle manuals, but British and Commonwealth manuals are more difficult to come by.
On the plus side, this means there is a good community of owners, and a few folks who have decent collections of manuals can be goldmines of information. On the downside, finding details of which parts to look for, let alone finding those parts, can be a challenge. This tends to be double problematic as many parts sellers won't know what they've got either. You tend to have to trust your gut at parts fairs and swap meets.
While I'm not a carrier owner, keep this in mind, as you may want to invest a few more pennies to get a more complete starting point.

mood lighting?

or some other kind of wheel, steam roller or something like that?
-
Water wheel?
-
Is it the back of a shooting range?
-
Thanks Ron, that's a bit of turn up for the books.
-
Does this mean you can register an unrestored vehicle if it's complete (but not necessarily safe and road-ready yet)?
-
Perhaps instead of adding weight to rumours, you should wait to hear what's real and what isn't from the source.

Yes please as well!

a cromwell drove into a clay pit at a breakers yard and apparently was not worth the effort to recover and remains there to this day. i have followed up on many tank stories and one day i will find one. this might be the one

Ah! But the laurels belong to Lauren. Standing on the shoulders of giants....

or leprechauns
-
Yes Lauren well done it forms part of that.
So 50% there but what is this particular component constructed in?
Blimey, that was a shock
I'm guessed the shape is to allow a look around, and the hessian is for camo, so presumbly it's something that the hessian will blend in with.
-
Maybe for a leprechaun .......... did you note the dimensions?
Lol, no I missed those. That said, good camo would explain why I can never find them at the end if a rainbow

Hi everybody. I've always had an interest in all things military. I served in the RAF for 10 years often found myself working with our sister services. I'm a big fan of the museum at RAF Duxford and the RAF museum at Hendon. Looking forward to learning more in the forum. Cheers.
Welcome along Theres a couple of other Duxford folks on here as well.

Is it a hide? Maybe for observation or shooting?

Does anyone know what the results were?

I've had a lot of good experiences with ebay/paypal, but also a couple of bad ones. Luckily I've not ended up vastly out if pocket, but I can understand when people don't want to use it.
That said, there are a lot of nasty folks out there so be careful whether buying or selling.

Congratulations Be prepared for the Dodge Dunk though! It seems to be a rite of passage for Dodge owners

And here's some video. To avoid bottoming out we elected to go for the corners.
The trip back was very sandy despite taking ages brushing down everything.
I think something went wrong with the video embed - here it is

Be careful of which charities you support - RBL and the poppy campaign are awesome, and I'd support them in a heartbeat, but there are some charities that aren't necessarily as nice.
One of my friends found this out the hard way when her family was involved in the Sri-Lanka tsunami, so now I tend to be *very* careful which charities I support. Anything with a political or religious connection needs very careful inspection, as you don't want to support the sort of selective aid that refuses to help and says "we'll only help you if you join our club / convert" when people are at their lowest possible moment.

So it's a Sixties Steyer Seven Six-two Spandau Certified by Sherwood? Try saying that sixty times over.
Thank you Snowdrop, that's Super

A conductivity issue
De-ionising them?
-
OK here's a clue. The items are special & novel way to overcome a problem related to the conductivity of air.
Ionising the air?
A question to all Carrier owners
in Tracked vehicles
Posted
Just to add to this one, the track of a tracked vehicle is the part that comes under the most stresses of the vehicle. For a vehicle going at 30mph, a track link in contact with the road is stationary (0 mph), and accelerates to twice the speed of the vehicle to overtake the road wheels and get back to the front. It accelerates 0 to 60 in half a turn of the drive sprocket (spindle moving at 30mph, plus rotating at 30mph to propel the track forwards of the spindle)
This is why track stretches despite being extremely robust and chunky.
If you watch video of a tracked vehicle, you can see the bottom of the track standing still as the wheels roll over it, and the top of the track running twice as fast as the vehicle itself.
