The fuel tank on top looks original - if so that tends away from afv use as it'd be plumbed in to the main fuel tank.

Thanks everso!

Ah, I have the Terence Wise books - I meant the 1942/1943 pamphlets

Where did you find the copy of Vehicle Markings? Is it a personal copy or one from a museum archive?

Isn't there a way of melting and remoulding the terminals?

thanks everso

Hiya,
Any ideas on how to delete a post that's been made in error? On the old forum it was under edit, but I can't find a similar option on the new software?
Thanks,
Lauren

Same type is used on AVRE mk 5

Just looking through the manuals. It's got more connections than a Mk 3, but it's a completely different RBJ on Centurion mk 7, 8, 9 and 10.

looks good to me....
...but I'm colourblind

Is it worth considering the new "downloads" tab at the top - you could add a directory for Clive's Corner?

I notice that the title under your name us now editable. Does this mean we're doing away with the ranks? Personally I think thats an improvement, but now I need to think of a title

Have you spotted the "condensed" button - it makes it easier to scroll through and pick out the interesting posts.

Check the condition:
a) has it got mould growing inside
b) has anyone been at the graticule - is it still there?
c) has sombeody removed all the paint and polished it up.
d) are all of the screws still there
e) has it got the replacable protective end-piece (glass and brass disc with two buttons) on one end and rubber eyepiece the other?

Ford never made any WOT2 bodies, all being supplied by sub-contractors. My WOT2 cab was made by BMB, not sure who made the rear body. Also the Ford WOT2 Wireless light warning truck body was made by Morris.
Thanks Rob!
Presumably if they were subcontracted, the MoS contract would be the main one, not split out as above.
-
sorry Lauren it is only a single page of the contract register ,it was e-mailed to me by someone on here a long time ago i think all the MOS supply archive is in the National archives so the full ledger may be there .
not too sure if the body would be part of the free issue items ,if it was would Bedford have just built MWC s and then fitted the bodys to suit
Thanks Nick!
I seem to remember discussion of MW and WOT2 bodies coming from another manufacturer.
-
Sorry for the off topic response, but where did you find the contract ledger? I've seen the contract cards before, but not a ledger like this.

Found it - google search for "4 hole pipe binder"

I belive they are called Lever Arch files. Try Amazon loads of variety there, or the local pound shop. I bought a load of kit from WH Smith about £20 worth. then walked into the pound shop could have got twice the amount for a £3 :banghead:
I think lever-arch refers to the type with the hoop and a lever to open it.
I too would love some of these binders (or the loxon loose-leaf ones) if you find a modern supplier.

Ford WOT2 Front axle with brake drums, a front grill (a bit rusty at the bottom) and 2 Ford WOT2 wheels (also a bit rusty). £100 the lot. Collect from Reading, Berks. PM me if interested.
Hi Rob,
I'd like them if nobody else jumps in?
Thanks,
Lauren

If you're charging for it you may want to look at normal business insurance.
