  1. Not had chance to pick it up yet. The owner called the company in Leeds who were very chatty about them. 'Yes, that's one of ours etc, but unfortunately we can't tell you anything about it as the design is covered by the official secrets act' This may be an exaggeration but they weren't able to help. Surely it's no secret that if you rotate a wire inside a magnetic field the electrons run around.
  2. Hi, just agreed to buy one of these genny's with the opposite problem to OP. The engine starts and runs well but there's no output. I'm close enough to Leeds to pick their brains and local genny sparky is onside to learn too. Thanks all, Neil
  3. Thanks for that, I have dealt before with Warwick Ward and want to do this as cheap as poss, but may have to go back to them. I've just had a look on Nelson Green website and will ask this week. Ta. WW want £3k for conversion but I'm trying to find the bits myself.
  4. Dragging up an old thread, I've one of these forklifts to modify for farm use from squaddie-spec. I've sussed the crowd rams, they just have a sleeve inside them to restrict movement to 6" so drivers can't tip pallets off the tines. I spent a couple of hours this week, stripping the rams down and putting them back together only to find that there still isn't enough movement to tip a bucket at anything over 4' height. Has anyone a source for the loader arms and quick-fit headstock to convert the forklift to loading shovel spec? Many thanks, Neil
  5. Hi, signed up to learn more about this forklift and how to de-squaddie it. I've got one to modify to give it more lift height and tipping angle for use with a bucket. I'm more used to vintage tractor forums etc but can appreciate the work that goes into all of the vehicles and accessories I have seen on here. I'll go to the 'right' bit of the forum now, many thanks. Neil, North Yorkshire
