  1. I'm thinking this might be submerged, the beams overhead and tie-downs may be to prevent the objects from floating up.

PS, re those car spraying lessons you where going to give me, I'd like to cancel if possible..:D

  2. Mark, I have to admit the "without me you would have no show" comment has also made my mind up. He certainly knows how to sweet-talk folk! Mick

Ok so he's invested to make money and needs a return, and do I think he makes some very valid points, but this is exactly the same interpretation of how things work that was shown by pop group/singer song writer managers who took all the money earned by their 'discoveries' saying 'There are plenty more like you sonny, take it or leave it' in the past.

We all know how well that worked long term...

  3. I don't necessarily expect a forum response, but I do expect a response at some stage, if you politely raise a query via email. I wrote several months ago but have had no reply.

If I was running a show I'd be taking every opportunity to keep potential exhibitors informed and happy at all times, I would be proactive not nonreactive, people need to plan ahead and they do need to know.

  4. It's all getting to be rather too tedious for words isn't it, not publishing the terms and conditions is just plain silly, however can anyone book with confidence that they won't be turned away because something about their vehicle or setup breaks the rules..it's bonkers!

Them not replying to our queries on here ain't a good sign either...

  5. When I was on a REME inspection team these vehicles were always listed as Scammell Constructor.

With greatest respect to your memory but they were Constructor in cab / front wings only, easily mistaken at first glance

I didn't think they were ever (to my knowledge correct me if I'm wrong) issued to REME in UK, as they where special order Explorers for NZ army and listed as such in sales records, only a very few where made.

  6. Bernard so you realise if you are walking round visiting the other exhibits you will not be entitled to have a pee on your travels & presumably would no member of the public? This would have to be carried out in the main trade area where there would be no restriction? Or are the restrictions just for after dark? I could see that might have unintended consequences for those nearby. :-X

In all the 20yrs attending I've only used their loos a very few times, apart from the bar urinals, so it's not something I worry about at all...

No doubt now you have raised the subject there will be toilet wristbands issued...

  7. Clive, I started to fill out the form then got stuck on an ambiguilty regarding support vehicle/campers which I've asked about by email, but had no response as yet, but it's early days.

When filling the form a floating total cost box follows one down the page, it starts at £25.00 if you click the toilet charge box the total goes to £35.00, and presumably totals up all your extra passes and such. So it's optional, I won't be ticking it as I have a camper.

  8. We went on one of those a couple of years ago in Seattle, there was nothing WW2 about any of the ones I saw all were 'replicas' but all the info inside implied they where genuine WW2 vehicles, I remember thinking that was a little bit naughty at the time.

I would doubt any claims of authenticity regarding these vehicles, even in a newspaper......

  9. Sad news indeed, and a great loss, I only met Peter once (1970 ish) at his Shoreham workshop, fascinated as he was reproducing Jeep panels by hand, we were into Choppers back then and a friend of mine bought Peters old knuckle head suicide clutch drag racing Harley and ran it at Santa Pod, he still has it, but it's morphed into street legal form now.
