Try here, i found this in another thread only the other day, i am presently having problems keeping my screens clear, even with rain-x the bodged wiper adaption i made not working that well!

Good site, The wipers on a mk 2 are only 3 to 4 inches long.
-
That looks fun. how good is the pig off road with all the extra weight?
-
Shame all the chassis and engines have been removed just bodys and the interiors sat on the floor. the one's i got the dash panel from there are 11 in a group most with big holes blown in them makes me want to cry.
-
If it was santas it would be red, must be the elfs being green.
-
I live just off sailsbury plain i know where most pigs are up there,i got a like new dash panel last time i went up. most of the bits are rusted badly but never thought about wipers at the time. I know i should'nt be up there but cant see all thoes bits go to waste.
-
Where can i get wiper arms and wipers from?
were they fitted to anyother mv's?
-
What does the gate and rad grill weigh on it's own, must be pretty heavy?
-
Ah sorry, totally misunderstood. I hate those rams & had a fixation about cutting them off!
Cant cut them off Clive there one of the best bits of a pig. Get out my way or else.
-
Better still add wheels scaffold tower type.problem solved.
Just remembered i have a wickes trolly that i acquired. will modify that then it will all be mobile.
-
I dont want to cut anything off clive, i want to remove it with the rad grill aswell, so i can take off the rad clean and paint everything behind. Think it make life easyer with the gate out of the way.
Dont worry Andy i wont be in any position where it can flatten me.
-
I was thinking of making a frame from scafolding that passes through the gate, then unbolt and reverse the pig off it with the gate still standing in the frame. then drive back up to it to refit.
Think it will work?
-
Anybody got any ideas, on how to take the 5 bar gate off the front without any lifting gear?
-
will get one made up just in case. i know loads of engineers i will get a couple made up so if you want one ill let you know when ive sorted it out.
-
Cheers Clive.
can you send me the measurements for the hub sleeve looks a very handy tool to have.
is it still ok to pop down yours at some point in the near future?
-
yes i see your point clive how it may have been painted because another was like it.
hopefully i will never have to find out.
if you pull back the rubber boot can you see what joint is fitted from there?

Hi Jon
one of your previous respondents said a local farmer I don't know if this is the same guy but near me in Wiltshire is a chap could Lloyd Knap he is probably your best bet he's got all the blasting kit and can do anything to do with jeeps he's an engineer and one of the best welders I've ever seen he tig welded and mig welded a body for me so I didn't have to use filler. Also if you ever go to his place the kit he's got hanging around that is amazing.
Where in wiltshire is he would be very handy to know someone like that.
-
That was supposed to say i think mine has the birfield joints.
im typing while watching tv.
I seam to recal someone saying or reading somewhere that they painted the hub centre red on the pigs fitted with those type of joints.
-
Its a shame they never got round to redesigning a new heavy duty axle so you dont have to be so carefull with them. Mine has the birfield joints so prone to half shafts breaking up.
-
So thats what happens when your heavy on the clutch. OUCH!!!!!!
Will have to make sure im gentle with the old girl.
-
Looks a very interesting place. Will add it to the list of places to visit this year. cheers
-
