I drove one of barrys pinkies to northhamptonshire to the LRO show.

Great fun, but cold and wet.

A brilliant experiance to drive one all that way.

Also had a ride to W&P in his SOV, another nice piece of kit.

Yes your right. i have only ever taken the wheels off the near side. its page 102 in my manual.

Wheel nuts are left hand thread on a pig.

so what do we do when all the reinforced tyres are worn out and there is no more second hand ones. i have a brand new extra reinforced tyre but the side wall has discintergrated.

The pig is on activearmour's website the reg is 26 BK 80.

Gently run a heat gun over them, it will melt the surface rubber and bring the colour back. also works on faded plastic.

Tell the guy if he doesn't sort out your axles, your drive it straight through his house.

Well the sun shone for a few mins last month so we decided to set about our Sherman resto!! First the false floor had to be cut out and then the Barrel and Mantle! closely followed by the comanders hatch!,next will be the turret then an appointment with mr shotblaster in the stubble field follwed by a long sleep in the shed over winter ,we need many interior parts so if anyone has a lead or a shed full of Sherman bits and pieces please get in touch ,cheers

I think There is still a sherman on sailsbury plain with no turret or tracks, it still has all the controls and dials inside. its where the public shouldnt be but not far from a byway. PM me if you want its location.

Yes. Although, but much of the automotive component is pure Humber. The control panel is from a Saladin, the 100A alternator from a Mk1 FV432, the inverters & rotary converter are either custom made or from aeronautical designs long since obsolete.

Not a impossable task then. just time waiting for parts to pop up.
